ID and Quest stages info[edit]

How is it that the ID data and quest stages are already available? Is this simply a transfer to flash drive, examine on computer sort of deal--or is there a way to play on PC already? - Mulsivaas 14:25, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

3rd Page[edit]

The location of the 3rd page was incorrect for me. Instead of being up the stairs and next to the chest, it was under the little tower, next to the stairs, directly below the chest. — Unsigned comment by 75.105.2.160 (talk) at 04:58 on 4 July 2012

So modify the page :) - Mulsivaas 17:29, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Better Directions[edit]

I'm trying to find all of Jiub's pages and I'm having trouble with the directions. We need to fix this so that more cardinal directions are used, and rewrite it in a way that doesn't leave any questions. For instance "Opposite the entrance to the Boneyard, head right to go around the building to the back." Should my character's back to to the door? Do they mean for me to go around the adjacent building where Dunheviir is chilling? I tried that, and the magic barrier around soul cairn won't let me do that. The other side is wall for miles. I will see what I can do to clarify directions as I find the pages. — Unsigned comment by 97.82.233.30 (talk) at 19:32 on 14 July 2012

I agree that the directions are really quite terrible. I'm currently trying to locate Page Six which reads: "Head southwest down the path from the gap in the wall..." Um, which wall might that be?174.0.116.189 16:16, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
that would be the massive wall mentioned in the directions for page three, edited. Ytsejam91 14:54, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Question..[edit]

Where IS the boneyard exactly? There are boneyards scattered all throughout the carin, the directions in this section are horrible, and nefarious at best. — Unsigned comment by 24.63.171.231 (talk) at 14:36 on 24 August 2012

There is actually only one Boneyard that is named as such, and it's the castle building where you find Valerica in the Cairn. If you've made it to the Soul Cairn, then you have to have at least started Beyond Death. If you have that quest active, follow your quest marker to Valerica. That is the Boneyard which the directions on the page are using as a reference point-- you don't actually have to enter through the door to find the pages. If you have already completed that quest, go back to that large castle building where you originally found her, and use it as a landmark to go with the directions. Page 9 fails to appear?[edit]

Has anyone else just had page 9 not appear at all? I followed the instructions very specifically, as well as watched a video just to make sure I was in the right spot, and page 9 didn't appear. Even after reloading a different save and going back to check, it wasn't there. The Grand Soul Gem right next to it was there, but the page was not. It did not seem to be anywhere in the maze. Anyone else have this problem? — Unsigned comment by 174.25.68.229 (talk) at 07:36 on 1 March 2013‎

It can get knocked away from its spot by spells, can also fall into the ground. Letting the zone reset might fix this. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 07:40, 1 March 2013 (GMT)
How long does it take a zone to reset? Does that just mean respawn? — Unsigned comment by 174.25.68.229 (talk) at 10:00 on 1 March 2013‎
I too am having trouble locating page 9. I had completed the MQ and killed Harkon, then came back to the Soul Cairn. All the Soul Husk plants that I harvested while in the Cairn for the first time have respawned, but I still cannot locate page 9 of Saint Jiub's Opus. Just to confirm, is it meant to be in that larger building, the one with several accessways that are blocked by horizontal bars, and has a teleport in the middle of one of the rooms, which takes you to the roof area of the building? Is that the one I'm supposed to be looking in? In the middle of the roof area, there is a chest with an Ideal Master directly above it. Is this where page 9 should be? Darictalk 06:16, 7 March 2013 (GMT)
Yeah, it's on the ground next to the chest. Note that it is on the opposite side from where you approach it, so you need to go around the chest and look behind you. There should be a soul gem next to it as well. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 13:01, 7 March 2013 (GMT)
I lost it too. I think it's because I was using Dawnbreaker (probably the best one-handed weapon for the Soul Cairn :) ) and the explosion must have knocked it around. I can't find a trace of it even after tcl-ing all over. I tried a placeatme command, but that just summons the base item, not the one with the script on it. Is there a way to find just the instance of it or mark it as a quest item from the console? 130.184.79.91 18:17, 12 April 2013 (GMT)
I'm a bit late to the party but I was having the same problem just now. After reading what Lord Eydvar said, I crouched at the spot where it's supposed to be and moved the courser around. Well, it was inside the ground. It wasn't visible but I was still able to pick it up.--95.91.252.105 22:37, 15 February 2014 (GMT)
Holy crap, thank you so much! I was looking forever to try to find it. The gem was there but not the page, but after crouching and looking at the seam between the chest and the ground it was there, on the ground inside the chest. What an odd bug. That's like half the fun of playing the game though (at least for me) 73.132.86.65 01:15, 18 December 2017 (UTC)

The Map[edit]

Alot of the above becomes null and void if you look at the map on the page, i even did it from my phone while playing on console. You do still have to check the map for landmarks but it didnt take me to long and i was doing the main quest here at the same time so just took a few detours between keepers. - Killerchronic (talk) 04:04, 29 April 2013 (GMT)

Moved from Skyrim talk:Console[edit]

Discussion moved from Skyrim talk:Console#Juib's opus

Hi. Page 6 of the Opus was trapped and I couldn't pick it up so I've used the console commands to obtain page 6 of Juib's opus but it isn't flagged as a quest item in my inventory ie I can drop it again, and consequently Juib doesn't recognized that I've got all 10 pages. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do please? 86.142.28.18 14:59, 4 December 2013 (GMT)

Instead of getting the missing page, you need to get the quest's counter of how many pages you have collected to increase. This could be done by the code set DLC1VQSaintCount to ##, where ## is the number you want to set it (10 if you have all). Or you could use the command setstage DLC1VQSaint 30, which will set the objective to "Return to Jiub". -- SarthesArai Talk 16:41, 4 December 2013 (GMT)

OPUS Page 10 Missing[edit]

Opus Page 10 is supposed to on top of the Barrel near Morton. However it is not there, I even downloaded a MOD to point to it and that still points to the Barrel. Can I reset that particular page so it reappears? — Unsigned comment by 85.211.42.84 (talk) at 15:54 on 11 April 2014‎

The only thing you can do is to move yourself to it with player.moveto xx014019 (where xx is the mod number, probably 02). Robin Hood  (talk) 23:15, 11 April 2014 (GMT)
Another solution is to recycle it. prid xx041019 then recycleactor might help.Penuser (talk) 17:13, 11 September 2014 (GMT)
I had this problem, but running the Special Edition the prid changed, I hadn't picked up page 2 which was prid 0201401d, and found that the relative prid was 02014025, it was in the correct spot but was never visible until I recycled it.172.8.152.249 06:22, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
Something that fixed this for me was simply aiming and using a fireball on the barrel. For some reason the missing page just appeared on the top of the barrel exactly where it was meant to be. 176.26.86.232 09:56, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
Toggling collision off (TCL) and going into the barrel I could see and interact with the page sitting just below the lid of the barrel. — Unsigned comment by 70.53.8.241 (talk) at 00:07 on 6 December 2018 (UTC)

Stuck in area where Page 3 was found[edit]

So I followed the directions to where Page 3 is located, but after I go through the hole in the wall to get to this area, I can't leave. The hole in the wall that I went through was a drop from the building I was in, to what looks like the courtyard for this building. There is also that blue wall surrounding the area which you can't walk through. Anyone having the same issue? — Unsigned comment by 75.70.212.62 (talk) at 06:29 on 9 July 2014 (GMT)

Glitch?[edit]

Can anyone confirm a CTD glitch associated with this quest - started or unstarted? The interwebz says picking up the pages (reading them at all, specifically) can cause an error I've been seeing (I'm making a clean save resource, so no mods are the issue). Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 04:02, 30 July 2014 (GMT)

It should also be noted that I have suffered not a single CTD going through the Soul Cairn and NOT doing Jiub's quest and NOT picking up any pages. Can anyone else confirm that the glitch is not in the quest alone, but actually in the quest items (the glitch will occur if the pages are read, not only if the quest is in your journal incompleted). Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 03:12, 1 August 2014 (GMT)

Reward description?[edit]

Should we add that the locket you get fortifies stamina and carry weight by 50 points each on this page too? --71.94.53.49 09:49, 20 November 2014 (GMT)

Both the Quest Reward entry at the top of the pageand the walkthrough already link to the Locket of Saint Jiub, where you can get further information on its effects. -- SarthesArai Talk 16:20, 20 November 2014 (GMT)

Missing Category[edit]

This page was not part of Category:Skyrim-Quests, like nearly all other quests. I suspect that this category is usually added by template Template:Trail2. However, I can't easily figure out how this is normally done. I did add the category manually, but consider this a work around. If you know how to do it using the preferred method, please do! Macfreek (talk) 15:44, 10 December 2021 (UTC)

Rather belated, but this has been fixed now. Robin Hood(talk) 01:53, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
