Named[edit]

When I found him, long before I even knew there was a quest, he was named Leifnarr and I received a quest objective to tell his family about his death. However, there was no indication who or where his family was, and so if I had simply played on without consulting the wiki, I would have had no idea where to go. --174.6.51.17 01:48, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

The most interesting point is that this contradicts the statement on the main page that he would just be an unnamed Nord before getting this quest. Can anyone check that out? --Ulkomaalainen 02:23, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
We just had to clear Broken Helm Hollow for part of the Companions questline, and Leifnarr's body registered as "Nord" when it was searched. This was on the Xbox360, with all patches installed.SingingMom 21:26, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
On the Xbox he is definitely just "Nord" without having the quest started beforehand, I'm not sure for when the quest is underway. -Melleh17 00:42, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
I'm playing on 360, and found Leifnarr (not "Nord") in Broken Helm Hollow without having first spoken to his wife Grosta at Heartwood Mill. In the Misc Quests section I now have an entry something like "Report Liefnarr's death to his family", and there's no Compass Marker when I select this quest as active. Quest is probably broken, as per Wiki info. So yes, it is possible to find Leifnarr's corpse labeled as "Leifnarr" before initiating the quest properly.Evil-i 22:43, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

() I have the same issue as the first statement. The quest now reads, Report leifnarr's death to his family -Xbox 360, all patches. — Unsigned comment by 71.229.241.108 (talk) at 10:46 on 18 April 2012

Yes I have the same problem, you have to get the quest before you find his body. RIM 13:36, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Another Bug[edit]

The following may be added to the list of bugs regarding Leifnarr ...

If you use the Dead Thrall spell to reanimate Leifnarr after the quest is completed, it triggers another quest message to notify his family all over again. The programming thinks you have to notify his wife all over again ... but if you try (again) she won't acknowledge this. So, as with other quest glitches, the line item remains in your so-called journal forever. Tesseract501 2014 May 09 07:15:35 UTC
