Multiple Blades[edit]

it should be said that if you get this normally then go back to get a second rubbing, you can obtain a second blade. i did thid multiple times on xbox to test it. entering the museum gives you the quest again, resulting in a chance to get multiple blades. — Unsigned comment by 69.171.187.90 (talk) at 09:24 on 25 June 2012

The quest restarting was patched and it breaks the Thieves guild questline if you do it. The Silencer speaksTalk 08:28, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
It doesn't break the quest line if you finish the quest line first, delete the patch then start the quest again. Viola 2 blades. KingK 15:48, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Tempering the Nightingale Blade (PC)[edit]

You now can temper the highest level of the blade, by installing the Unofficial Skyrim Patch: [1] — Unsigned comment by 82.95.212.49 (talk) at 13:35 on 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for alerting us, and trying to add a note to the article stating this. I've added a note that saids so after I noticed your efforts. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 13:35, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
P.S.:
I just tried a few more, i.e. Kahvozeins Fang.
So it seems that several other non-temperable weapons and armor can now be tempered as they should be. Check the full list on the creators' page:

For those unwilling to install the Unofficial Skyrim Patch but who have access to the Creation Kit: In the Constructible Objects list, doubleclick on TemperWeaponNightingaleBlade05, and in the Created Object dropdown, replace NightingaleBlade04 with NightingaleBlade05. Then save the .esp and make sure it's in your load list. 84.104.52.189 12:52, 26 October 2013 (GMT)

The Owner of the Sword[edit]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Blade's original owner Gallus?I thought Karliah mentioned that in her dialouge with the player when she gives you the sword.--Skyrimplayer 13:41, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

I just checked in the CS she has dialouge saying,"In the meantime,I wanted you to have this.It belonged to Gallus, but given the circumstances I think he'd approve."--Skyrimplayer 15:43, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
So.Can I add the information that the blade was Gallus's?--Skyrimplayer 15:10, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, by all means! In future, if you have confirmed information like this, don't hesitate to add it to the article. Robin Hoodtalk 20:37, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Leveled Statistics[edit]

I'd like to note that my level 38 wood elf obtained the proper 36-45 sword with both health and stamina at 20 as opposed to the 25 for stamina. With that in mind, I'd like to see if they fixed the max level tempering bug as well with the official patches. This is also run under the Xbox 360 version. Hope this helps future players. 74.65.70.41 16:53, 22 January 2013 (GMT)

Unfortunately no. The 4th version displays the correct values, but the actual values are hidden to Xbox and PS3 players. The official Patches haven't been near this blade. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 16:59, 22 January 2013 (GMT)
Wow, that really is unfortunate. My apologies for bringing it up. 74.65.70.41 13:50, 23 January 2013 (GMT)

Brotherhood of Steel reference?[edit]

Any particular reason the image for this object is assembled in a way that it resembles the Brotherhood of Steel logo? Just coincidence? http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Brotherhood_of_Steel 96.238.52.167 07:39, 20 February 2013 (GMT)

Yeah seems to be, nice catch though that's funny that it looks like that. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 07:49, 20 February 2013 (GMT)
Either pure coincidence or the uploader deliberately took it that way. It's not set up that way in the game so no easter egg here. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 14:30, 20 February 2013 (GMT)

Blade of Differing Value[edit]

I acquired the Nightingale Blade at level 46 giving me the highest leveled sword. However it reads as Damage 18 (I'm assuming becuase of my one handed skill), Weight 15, Value 2050. Its the value that's throwing me off. Why would my value read higher than the wiki's listed one? Playing on PS3. — Unsigned comment by 97.89.73.97 (talk) at 19:17 on 22 March 2013

If you're viewing the value in a shop window, it is probably being modified by your speech skill. Shadowrose6663 (talk) 02:07, 3 February 2015 (GMT)

When the level is determined[edit]

Not sure if this is worth mentioning, but as confirmed here, the level of the Blade is determined at the moment when you obtain it, as with most leveled items, but unlike the Nightingale Armor. --95.222.29.110 17:23, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
