Won't mention house[edit]

Has anyone found a way to fix the bug? I'd really like to buy this home. 207.191.223.213 22:08, 20 November 2011 (UTC)Dirt

Is this "bug" actually a bug at all? It just takes a while to get the right to buy a house in Markath, but as far as I can see, that is intentional. The jarl has little love for "sellswords", as he says when you first meet him, and as such, you're simply not allowed property in his city until he trusts you - which he does after retrieving his father's shield. You don't get that quest until reaching level 20. If you're lower level, and you haven't returned the shield, then yes, Raerek will stick to meaningless, non-house-related comments. --FoaT 13:35, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

"Raerek wont talk to me!?"[edit]

I had this issue, I needed to blackmail him for the Stormcloak quest. Looks like a lot of people had the issue, or something similar with this NPC. Not many answers however, most people just post how to do the quest ( the quest is a little difficult to do , but I honestly thing it was the bug that was causing most of the troubles, its really not that hard to figure out what to do), or say they had no problems.

Anyway, I solved it by becoming a Jarl in the city.

I had already visited the Stormcloak quest giver 3 times, and he kept telling me to go back and get evidence, wich I actually had on me the 2nd and 3rd time I spoke to him, but the quest wouldnt update and move the quest marker to Markath. After becoming a Jarl and speaking to him a 4th time, the quest marker finally updated and I was able to blackmail Raerek.

So my hint/suggestion to anybody stuck here is this : Keep returning to the wherever the quest marker tells you to go, and ask again what you need to do, and hope the quest triggers the next step. You are not able to talk to Raerek about the Talos amulet with out the quest update.

I was however able to buy my new home before the 4th visit to try the Stormclak quest-giver again. He is just a buggy old man... I might kill him in his sleep now that I am done with him... — Unsigned comment by 58.210.255.116 (talk) at 13:58 on 1 December 2011‎

Option to Buy Vlindrell Hall doesn't Disappear[edit]

I'm experiencing a rather reverse of a bug. Particularly the option to buy Vlindrel Hall. Apparently, what I experience is the option not disappearing even if I already bought all the possible upgrades. Is there like a fix for this because this annoys me everytime I have to talk to him for bounty quests. --112.206.47.204 09:59, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

Spam filter[edit]

The spam filter won't let me add the tidbit about Raerek's...problem...with the Stallion Potion and all that. 109.153.131.239 12:47, 24 July 2013 (GMT)

We can't see any attempted edits by you or to this page in the logs. Would you mind remaking the edit and/or censoring it? We can pull it from the logs if you type it the same way, or someone with higher editing rights can tweak a censored version. However, I do not believe that you need to word it in a way that triggers the filter; try writing it a different way if you can. Vely►t►e 20:45, 24 July 2013 (GMT)

Stormcloak comment not a bug[edit]

It is noted under bugs that "Raerek may comment 'I don't think we have anything to discuss, Stormcloak.' even if you haven't joined the Stormcloaks, and the city's turnover has been caused by Season Unending." Why is this a bug? My interpretation of the comment is that Raerek is meant to be of the opinion that if you, by you actions during the Season Unending quest give The Reach to the Stormcloaks you are as good as a Stormcloak just by doing it.

Are there any good reasons not to remove it from the bug list? (And maybe move a reworded version of it to Notes?) —MortenOSlash (talk) 21:38, 25 July 2013 (GMT)

He'll name you stormcloak even if you have joined the legion and maybe achieved a high rank within it. So even if you made your loyalities clear, he'll still not recognize it. This is why'd I say it is a bug. -- SarthesArai Talk 21:43, 25 July 2013 (GMT)
Not a bug. He's insulting you by calling you a Stormcloak because you've cost him his position. Whether you're actually a Stormcloak or not is beside the point. 68.33.72.213 14:44, 7 March 2014 (GMT)
