[edit] Hidden Chest

just a note in case anyone misses it whenever a map of this area will be made, in the "redwater spring" area, there is a chest that is only accessible using whirlwind sprint in the first room to have a cage, and a dead nord on a long table. — Unsigned comment by Halla man3 (talkcontribs) at 20:27 on 20 July 2012

Thanks. I'm sure someone will find this helpful when writing the page. The Silencer speaksTalk 19:38, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Bloodspring Contagion

I drank from the Bloodspring while not a vampire and contracted two diseases: Rattles and Sanguinaris Vampiris. Don't know whether the diseases are always the same or if it's two random diseases, but it's worth noting either way. Wordmama 01:08, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

I kept on activating the Bloodspring and contracted every disease available. — Unsigned comment by 85.96.84.198 (talk) at 11:44 on 27 August 2012

[edit] Visiting as a Member of the Dawnguard

You can go here as a member of the Dawnguard, get invited in, get free Redwater Skooma (and buy the rest from the attendant). If you unlock the back door, everyone becomes hostile (including the other addicts in the den). If you drink, you'll pass out and end up in a cage as well. Proceeding to the Bloodspring will let you kill all the vampires - but if you try to drink from the spring without the chalice, you'll get a random disease, plus sanguinare vampiris. Drinking repeatedly gives you every in-game disease. A quick cure potion will get rid of them all for you. Heading back up, the lookout and the guard are now Vampire Thralls, and are non-hostile. — Unsigned comment by 151.151.109.18 (talk) at 18:14 on 23 August 2012

[edit] Pre-Dawnguard

It might be worth noting that when exploring the Redwater Spring before starting any Dawnguard quests, Venarus Vulpin is replaced with a generic Master Vampire. - 50.92.103.208 15:04, 14 October 2012 (GMT)

Looking at the game data, it appears that this is one of many instances in which the game renames the boss in a location during a particular quest. I can't find the specific information on the boss of this location, but I'm guessing that it's not always a "master vampire" like you had, but rather a generic boss-level vampire in general. In any case, I'll go ahead and update the article to reflect this. — ABCface 17:28, 14 October 2012 (GMT)
Okay, got some help from Alfwyn and found that it can indeed be something other than a "Master Vampire", so my guess was right on that part. Here's the information on that boss vampire, just for future reference. — ABCface 18:24, 14 October 2012 (GMT)
Found this by accident, quite curious: with Dawnguard installed but having not started a quest other than the initial "Join the Dawnguard" one that you get from passing guards, I met Venarus as the boss, and killed him. After that, I read his journal mentioning the chalice, drank from the fountain, contracted the vampiric disease and did a Save&Exit. Upon reloading, I came back to his room again to see if I missed anything. His body was now named "Master Vampire". The attendant and lookouts outside were now called "Vampire Thrall" (except the Dealer) but were still friendly.--201.10.32.238 23:47, 29 October 2012 (GMT)

[edit] Fork and Knife

(PS3 user) Since these can be hard to find, I wanted to mention that both of them can be found here. MrC (talk) 15:04, 25 March 2013 (GMT)
