Great Glitch[edit]

He's apparently made his home Morvunskar in my game after finishing his quest. He's an immortal ally, so he helps clear every time I show up.BMFPoochie 07:29, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Bad Glitch[edit]

Like the person said above me, Sanguine has made his home in the same place for me, and even worse there is a section inside this fort where it says "To Misty Grove". If you get too close to that area, you are warped to Misty grove where you can never get back. Luckily I'm on the PC and I consoled my way back to Skyrim, but other than that there is no way to get back. The only people there are commoners who say things like "need something?" Subtitle glitch[edit]

Minor glitch where, when talking to him, his subtitles become locked. Only showing the very first thing he said.

Also, the more you talk to him the more his words slur. More than likely indicating his drunkenness, if any. — Unsigned comment by 173.21.155.81 (talk) at 05:55 on 19 January 2012

Marriage[edit]

So I hear someone used the console to marry him. What's up with that? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ - Cirian 79.87.202.92 15:31, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

With console you can marry anyone who as the dialogues for it and since he as the same voice as some NPCs and if someone did in fact mary with him it probably means that he has those dialogues to make it possible.Pizza_Boy 19:56, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

I also married him, because if you're going to marry, might as well go for Daedric royalty. -Destana Stormblade

Unintended ramifications?[edit]

So I know him wandering around Morvunskar killing necromancers and conjurers is a glitch but I have to wonder to myself.. as far as lore goes.. what are the ramifications of this? The Daedric Prince Sanguine has accessed Tamriel in his true Deadric form! Something Mehrunes Dagon himself could only accomplish with great effort through the Oblivion crisis! Would the Dragonborn need Akatosh's help to create another Amulet of Kings to relight the Dragon fires and cast Sanguine back to Oblivion?... I know it's a bug... but it creates an entire other game's worth of problems as far as lore goes... — Unsigned comment by Storn (talkcontribs) at 05:15 on 1 July 2012

Yeah I'm confused about this too, I thought the Daedra where cut off (Can't walk around casually) from Nirn when Akatosh made a pact with the queen of Cyrodil? Lizard Man 15:07, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
Given that he appears as a fairly ordinary Dremora, I take this to mean Sanguine isn't in his "true Daedric form." Compare this with how he has been represented in past games and it seems like this is a loaner body. What Sanguine says seems to imply that Sam is (was) a mortal servant and bearer of the Rose, rather than merely a disguise. SonGoharotto 11:59, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Invincible?[edit]

So I was doing the Dawnguard quest to save my wife from the vampires in Morvunskar, when I ran into old Sanguine. After fighting all the mages and the boss vampire, I started to mess around with Sanguine and shot him with my (Dwarven) crossbow, only to have the bolt shoot right through him. I think I think tried to use a melee weapon, only to have it pass straight through him, so I'm wondering if it should be added to his article that he his invincible? — Unsigned comment by 98.80.214.133 (talk) at 21:16 on 22 November 2013

The technical term is Essential, which is noted in the summary box. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 21:29, 22 November 2013 (GMT)
I thought "essential" simply refers to characters who can't be killed. Sanguine is the only character that I know of who can't even be damaged, so I would argue that he is a special case. 62.78.230.2 15:12, 28 December 2013 (GMT)
Barbas and the Undbound Dremora (though he should disappear and stays around because of a bug) are also invulnerable. I must have missed the part about not even being able to hit him, as upon further inspection of the CSlist, it appears that Sanguine is marked as a ghost (Barbas has an actual tag of invulnerable).
