Essential[edit]

I payed her a FORTUNE in gold for training, and then I tried to kill her. But I couldn't. Was this because I had not completed Blood on the Ice, or is she essential until I have exhausted her training skills? Help would be appreciated, thanks. — Unsigned comment by 109.79.41.107 (talk) at 13:09 on 13 October 2012‎

She is essential for Blood on the Ice. I don't know if trainers are marked essential, but I think not. Vely►t►e 15:09, 13 October 2012 (GMT)
She is set essential via the quest aliases of MS11PreEssentializing. That quest is "Start Game Enabled", so she is essential from the beginning. The quest is stopped at stage 0 of MS11 (Blood on the Ice). In theory that should make Silda un-essential, since the alias in MS11PreEssentializing isn't holding her anymore. In practice, this may not be the case (see Senna). All the working examples of non-essentialness after the quest I've seen either do it explicitly, or do some complicated scheme of having two aliases, one "nameEssential" that is forced NONE, and a second one "name" that copies it's value to "nameEssential" (see Hamal in T01 for an example). --Alfwyn (talk) 19:18, 14 October 2012 (GMT)
Of course Blood on the Ice (MS11) makes Silda essential too via a witness alias. MS11 is never stopped, but checking a savegame after MS11 is done shows the witness aliases cleared and Silda isn't essential anymore. Stage 40 explicitely clears the witness aliases, this should be the end of essentialness for her. --Alfwyn (talk) 18:29, 24 January 2014 (GMT)

Doesn't seem to ever sleep.[edit]

Followed her around during a 24 hours arc and she doesn't seem to ever go to sleep. She just spends a few hours warming herself up in different spots. Might be relevant for anyone who wanted to have a better chance at pickpocketing back the gold paid to her for her training during her sleep. --Rope Dog (talk) 21:17, 4 July 2013 (GMT)

The article already describes her schedule as begging or warming her hands at all times, so it is implied that she does not sleep. — ABCface 21:24, 4 July 2013 (GMT)
Realted to that is that the location given in the infobox (and found in the game data) doesn't really make sense - she's never to be found in Candlehearth Hall I think. --Alfwyn (talk) 20:31, 24 January 2014 (GMT)

Silda's weapon skills[edit]

On this page, her skills are listed as 2 handed, yet her class skill is one handed? — Unsigned comment by 125.237.252.75 (talk) at 00:01 on 16 March 2019

Her class' weighted skill point additions are irrelevant because she has a set level. In this case her primary skills are purely down to what her base stats are. It's only two points in it though, her two-handed is 25 and her one-handed is 23. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 02:13, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
