Essential[edit]

Is there any reason why this NPC is permanently essential? Doesn't seem to be... Kivan 16:12, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Essential means unkillable, not neccesary. There doesn't seem to be a reason why she is essential but that is what the game data says(apparently). The Silencer 16:23, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
She holds a key to Dengeir's Hall, and she is a Steward. Otherwise, I see nothing. --Velyanthe 16:30, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
Stewards are always essential, see Skyrim:Anuriel, Skyrim:Raerek and Skyrim:Jorleif for examples. When Dengeir becomes Jarl again, she becomes his steward. Wolok gro-Barok 18:33, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks... must have missed that in the CK. :^) Kivan 19:24, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
If stewards and replacement stewards like Tekla are always essential, then why does this not apply to Brill of Whiterun? He replaces Proventus Avenicci should the Stormcloaks take over, and yet Brill is not flagged essential.174.0.116.189 00:31, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

Rivalary[edit]

It should be listed that you can get a courier letter from her by kiliing Bolund. — Unsigned comment by 96.240.235.140 (talk) at 02:26 on 9 February 2013

Are you thinking of An enemy's gratitude? This interaction is generic and applies to many NPCs in the game, so it is not listed on NPC pages. — ABCface 05:10, 9 February 2013 (GMT)

dialogue[edit]

If you killed jarl Siddger or however you spell it, she gives you gold and a unique dialogue option pops up, I think this is only before the stormcloaks take over, and im pretty sure the gold is leveled--Igottabombshell4ya (talk) 12:36, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

This is part of a radiant quest, meaning that it is not unique to either Tekla or Siddgeir. However, in this case, I would assume that your game has been affected by either mod or the use of console commands. Firstly, Siddgeir is permanently set as essential, which means that he can never be killed under normal circumstances (even if the Stormcloaks take over). Secondly, Siddgeir and Tekla merely have a relationship level of Rival. As noted in the quest article, the sender must have at least a Foe relationship level with the person you killed in order to give you a gold reward rather than a simple letter of thanks. I would assume that this discrepancy is related to however you modified your game.--Rook (talk) 13:38, 27 March 2021 (UTC)

Yes, I obviously used console commands, but there was no mod other than cutting room floor that would have done that, and it wasn't a radiant quest, she didn't ask me or anything, and it wasn't by letter, I bumped into her during my.....spree, and after i collected my gold, she says "I prefer if we do not speak of this" or something along the lines of that--Igottabombshell4ya (talk) 22:49, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
