[edit] Vaermina

Vaermina (also spelled Vaernima) is a Daedric Prince whose sphere is the realm of dreams and nightmares, and from whose realm issues forth evil omens. Some have also claimed her sphere ties somehow to torture. Statuary of Vaermina depicts her as female.

Vaermina's plane of Oblivion is Quagmire. It is described in The Doors of Oblivion as a nightmare realm, where every few minutes reality shifts and becomes ever more horrifying: "a dark castle one moment, a den of ravening beasts the next, a moonlit swamp, a coffin where he was buried alive."

The Hero of Daggerfall recevied The Skull of Corruption from Vaernima. She is an enemy of Ebonarm, Boethiah, Peryite, and Hermaeus Mora, but is allied with Sanguine. Her summoning day is the 10th of Sun's Height.

[edit] Vivec, Master of Morrowind

Vivec, warrior-poet god of the Dunmer, is the invisible keeper of the holy land, ever vigilant against the dark gods of Red Mountain. He has saved the Dunmeri people from certain death on numerous occasions, most notably when he taught them how to breathe water so that he could flood Morrowind and kill the Akaviri invaders, c. 2E 572.

After Nerevar's death, the councilors of Nerevar and the Tribunal of Vivec, Almalexia, and Sotha Sil came to power among the Dunmer. They then went against Nerevar's dying wish by using the profane Tools of Kagrenac on the Heart of Lorkhan in order to steal its divine essence for themselves. They achieved great heroism with their divinity, but it was also their undoing; because they worked deeds of good against the evil of the Heart they were weakened even before the return of Dagoth-Ur, Nerevar's nemesis. Dagoth-Ur, who had also stolen power from the Heart, acted in accordance with its evil and grew stronger.

Vivec was one of the more active members of the Tribunal. He performed several public acts of heroism, including saving the lives of the other members of the Tribunal. He was the last to stand against Dagoth-Ur and maintain the Ghostfence after Sotha Sil withdrew completely into his own clockwork world and Almalexia gave in to despair.

The advent of the Nerevarine Champion was to bring an end to Vivec's divinity: when the Nerevarine regained Kagrenac's Tools from Dagoth-Ur's Ash Vampires and destroyed the Heart of Lorkhan in Red Mountain, all those who had stolen power from the Heart lost their divinity. Dagoth-Ur fell beneath the Nerevarine's blade and subsequent events saw the death of Sotha Sil and Almalexia. Vivec remained, alive but mortal.

In Oblivion, it is revealed that Vivec has gone missing. It is possible that the Nerevarine killed him or that he was taken by the Daedra. He may also have chosen to disappear and live out the remainder of his days in obscurity. It is also likely that he finally died of old age. In any case, although he outlived the destruction of the Heart of Lorkhan, he is no longer a presence in Morrowind.
