  1. The name which usually refers to the whole planet where the Elder Scrolls takes place. Can also specifically refer to the main and largest continent on the planet.

  1. The common tongue of most of the Empire, based upon the original High Elven language.

  1. A race in Akavir described as generous and kind 'monkey people.' There are various breeds of them, they are very brave, and simple (and many are also believed to be insane). They can raise armies when they must, for all of the other Akaviri nations have, at one time or another, tried to enslave them.

  1. A short, thrusting, blade, slightly longer than a Dagger, that is quick to use and easy to conceal.

- noun
  1. Telvanni, one of the five Great Houses of Morrowind, is the xenophobic clan of a generally xenophobic race, shunning all contact with non-Dunmeri. They tend their herds of giant insects in solitude amoung the rocky hills and islands in the northeast of the province. The Telvanni bugmusk is a highly prized perfume as are their riding-insects.

  1. A thief is a versatile criminal capable of anything from stealing or breaking and entering, to extortion and grander schemes. Thieves are generally required to be intelligent and quick if they wish to survive very long.

  1. One of the thirteen major constellation birthsigns. The Thief is considered to be a "Guardian" birthsign because the planet representing Arkay is within the constellation. As a Guardian constellation, it wards over three others, also of a similar subversive nature: the Lover, the Shadow, and the Tower. Those born under the Thief are more difficult to hit in combat.

  1. A plague occurring about 1000 years after the battle of Orsinium in 1E 980 which, along with the War of Righteousness, slew over half the population of the Iliac Bay region.

  1. A collar, necklace, or similar ornament consisting of a twisted narrow band, usually of precious metal, worn esp. by the ancient Gauls and Britons.

  1. One of the 13 major constellation birthsigns. Those born under the Tower have the ability to unlock doors via magic as well as detect things at a distance.

  1. A race of vampiric serpents originating from the continent of Akavir, east of Tamriel. The serpent-folk apparently ate the men that had lived on Akavir, although this could mean that they assimilated with them as a culture. Their appearance has been described differently on many occasions, the only consistency being that they are "tall, beautiful (if frightening), [and] covered in golden scales."
