This page aims to be a reasonably complete listing of tools for use with Morrowind.
[edit] Launch and Savegame Management
Utilities for launching Morrowind and managing savegames.
- INI Switcher
- Switch between different versions of the Morrowind.ini file.
- The "abilities" that it offers (set globals and change the PC's race and class) are already available from the ingame console.
- Savegame Manager
- Wrye Mash
- Mod and savegame management, editing and repair.
- Strongly recommended for both modders and players.
[edit] Co-Executables
Utilities that enhance gameplay by interacting with Morrowind.exe as it runs.
- FPS Optimizer
- Play enhancer. Co-executable that maximimizes viewing distance and FPS (frames per second.
- Also tweaks music play and a few other functions.
- Strongly recommended for players.
- Morrowind Enhanced (MWE)
- Play enhancer. Co-executable that allows enhanced combat, writing, journal, etc.
- Morrowind Script Extender (MWSE)
[edit] Mod Cleaning and Reconciliation
Utilities that clean and reconcile problems between mods.
- ESP Cleaner
- GMST Cleaner
- Mod management: re-sequences merged leveled lists produced by TESTool.
- TES Plugin Conflict Detector (TESPCD)
- Detects and helps repair conflicts between mods.
- Quickly searches mods for strings, conflicts, warnings and global changes.
- Strongly recommended for players who don't mind getting a little technical.
- TESTool
- A mod management, repair and cleaning utility.
- Strongly recommended, though some functions should be used with care, and other functions have been outdated.
- Use Wrye Mash for leveled list merging.
[edit] Mod Editing
Utilities that edit mods in various ways.
- BookGen
- Book editor.
- Enchanted Editor
- Mod and savegame editing and repair. General purpose low level editor.
- Powerful, but requires effort to learn.
- Recommended for modders who need to get down into to the guts of game or save files.
- ESParser
- A utility used to automate some common dialogue-related tasks, such as spellchecking and NPC lists making.
- MWEdit
- Alternate Morrowind mod editor.
- TES Advanced Mod Editor (TESAME)
- TES Construction Set (TESCS)
- Bethesda's mod editing program.
- This is still the primary editing utility for TES mods. However, other tools supersede and/or augment it for some functions.
- TES Faith
- Move and copy exterior cells. Faith moves mountains!
- Very complete tool for moving cells -- and thus resolving landscape conflicts.
- TES Dependency Toolkit
- Outdated. Use Wrye Mash instead.
- Master list editing for mods.
[edit] Mod Integration
Utilities that integrate esps with their dependent files (meshes, textures, etc.), or modify that integration in some global way. Used by modders to build their mod archives, and by players to clean out their Data Files directory.

The TES3 BSA format is much simpler than the TES4 BSA format. For details, see ghostwheel's site. BSA utilities include:
- BSA Browser
- Create and browse BSA files such as Morrowind.bsa.
- BSAPack
- Create and browse BSA files such as Morrowind.bsa.
