[edit] Potted Nirnroots
Adds a potted Nirnroot to the game, which you can drop in your house to decorate it. The Nirnroot itself should only be a prop, so that you cannot take the plant by accident and make it disappear, defeating the purpose of having a potted Nirnroot in the first place.
[edit] Portable bedrolls
Ditto: a bedroll you can take, drop on the ground, and sleep on. I understand that "activating" the bed and taking it are assigned to the same button, but this problem can be solved with a small menu (this is the same for vampires interacting with a sleeping NPC).
[edit] skooma like poitions
i had this idea a while ago to be able at a alchemy skill of: MASTER (100) to be able to create drugs like feldew or skooma whit effects like:
- DRAIN SPEED 500pts 300sec
- FORTIFY ENDURANCE 500pts 300sec
- NIGHT-EYE 300sec
- DAMAGE LUCK 5pts
[edit] Knight of Order Armor
it kind of anoys me you cant wear armor of those knights of Order, but you can with there priests it's just not fair there armor is sooooo shiny...
- I dont think that knights of order even wear armor, thats probably just themselves.
- There is an item in the Testing Hall (coc teestinghall) that looks like a vial with sand in it labeled Knight of
Order Armor. You can equip it and look exactly like a Knight of Order.
[edit] Super Sweet Item Chest
That would be cool if there was a chest that would let you share its contents between different characters. So for instance, you could take a high leveled sword (or what ever) from your lvl. 57 ninja, put it in the chest, start a new character, open the same chest, and smile as your lvl. 1 n00b becomes a lvl. 1 god. Not sure where it should go though. Maybe the White Stallion Lodge, or even as an upgreydd for one (or all) of the houses.
- Oblivion save files are not connected to each other in any way, making this idea impossible.
[edit] Cyber Armor
Cyber armor is an armor idea I had a while ago, but i do not have the tools to make it. I want it to be pitch-black and metalic, and to have neon-green lines going trough it. (have the lines seperate segments of the body.) If anyone cold do that with a full set of armor, a sheild and longsword, I would give manny thanks.
[edit] Heavy Glass Armor
No, there isnt a single mod for this. Can u believe that not a single 1 ! What i like to see: a set of newly textured heavy glass armor without that ridiculous glass helm. Because the standerd glass helm doesnt fit and it looks kinda stupid. The helm needs to look a bit scary and the shield needs some work to. I hope to see a mod soon.
[edit] Belts
Add belts for an additional enchantment slot.
[edit] Red Dragon Crown
A mod that would add the Red Dragon Crown mentioned by Baurus would be nice to see. Remember? "Most people think of the Red Dragon Crown, but that's just jewelry."
- If you've seen the crown jewels I know you'll go crazy about this idea. shiny... oh lost my self there for a while it needs to be very shiny with diamonds and valuable and very... I dont mean bethesda style ...well guarded. (if it was put in the game by bethesda you could walk in where ever it would be, take it, walk out, drop it, yeild to a guard, pay your fine go, back to where ever you dropped it, use telekinesis on it go down an alley way grab it sell it to Ongar... yes the guy in bruma... buy it back and it would be yours for the keeping or that's the way with the 360)
[edit] Crowns of Lindai and Nenalata
Maybe someone could try to create a mod that means wearing the crown of Nenalata causes any undead in Nenalata to not attck you, the same could occur in Lindai and possibly add a crown of Miscarcand that could be found on the King.
- ...but it should have the following enchantments:
Spell Absorption 50 pts
Fortify Magicka 150 pts
Reflect Damage 25%
Shield 75%
[edit] Sanguine Rose Plus
It might be fun to have a quest or something to upgrade the Sanguine Rose to allow it to randomly summon a Daedric Prince to wreak havoc in a unique way (Sheogorath throws burning dogs at your enemies, Malacath summons a troll/ogre army, Hircine lets loose a Chimera, Nocturnal envelopes your enemies in a dark void, etc.). Restrictions would definitely have to be placed on this item as it is clearly very powerful and would make the game unbalanced.
[edit] Paladin Armor
I think there should be really cool adventurer armor somewhere, maybe with a cool weapon to back it up that looks really heroic
- The Lost Paladins of the Divines mod provides paladin-themed armor and weaponry.
[edit] V for Vendetta Mask
It would be so cool to have some sort of mask that hid your face like the masque of Clavicus Vile or the gray fox except makes your fame 100 and gives you special quests of destroying evil cults, thieves, murderers and bandits and collecting a reward from the imperial city
[edit] Death Bracers
Some sort of gauntlets that will practically make you immortal - instead of dying when your health hits zero, it'll instead keep going further and further into negatives, making you undead; the more damage you sustain, the more obvious and serious of a transformation you undergo, gaining a few bonus strengths, but a lot of weaknesses as well. You could eventually get beaten down to such a state that you'd be as good as dead anyway, so it can backfire if you let it go too far.
[edit] Spartan Armor
A great mod would be a full set of Spartan II Mjolnir Mark VI armor from the Halo universe. It could come in multiple colors and have enchantment bonuses to the hand to hand skill and strength. And what Spartan would be complete without his weapon? The Covenant Elite energy sword to complete the package. All could be sold by a roving salesman (possibly a Grunt as it would require a fairly small simple skeleton) selling "Strange and unusual things."
- The Spartan Project mod is Mark V, but it does have the sword.
[edit] Custom Crusader Armour
Doing a quest for some blacksmith hermit who's forge is out in the middle of nowhere would reward you with what is basically crusader armor but before making it he asks questions like what color you want the metal to be, silver gold or black, and then what color you want the shield and cuirass decoration and the pattern to be, if you want to be elaborate here he could even give you an option of different patterns and a choice of enchantments. after a week the armor would appear on a stand in his forge where it could be replaced to recharge and fix it, like the priory of the nine.
[edit] Custom staff crafting
Why there is only one empty staff in the whole game, during the Mages Guild quest line? More empty staffs, so you could create more staffs for your own, perhaps even with multiple effects. There are some in-game staffs that have like "Fire damage 5 pts on target & 100% weakness to fire on target" so why not able to create one yourself? There is also an staff named Apotheosis, which has shock, fire AND frost damage. Too bad not to capable crafting your own.
- See Unenchanted Staves for the first idea
[edit] Artifact Armor From Morrowind
Cuirasses like the Dragonbone Cuirass (100% fire resistance), Lord's Mail, Ebony Mail, or anything new that is unique with an armor rating higher than daedric. Granted, the Savior's Hide did make it into Oblivion, but it's low rating makes it barely worth wearing when compared to other types of armor common to the game. You'd think that something given to you by a Daedra Prince for completing a dangerous task would be of higher quality. Also, by adding these legendary items (even in mod form), it would give players something else to shoot for and make the game a lot more enjoyable.
- A Dragonbone Armor Set mod is available.
[edit] Armor Set for Spell Breaker
Armor to complete a set for the shield received from Peryite's Daedric Quest.
[edit] The Wolf or Snow Wolf armor
The armor set seen from Blood moon, that is weak but yet impressive.
[edit] The Boots of Blinding Speed MK II
A remake of those oh so brilliant boots from Morrowind
[edit] Magical Trinkets of Tamriel
A remake of the mod for Morrowind
[edit] Assorted Clothes
A wider range of expensive-type clothes for unarmored characters. Cloaks would be a good idea, as well as more hoods. Pointy hats for wizards and ladies, perhaps robes with symbols on or Japanese-style printed garments as well. Flip flops would be cool too! To add to this, armor users have gauntlets and magicians who are picky about keeping that 100% magical effectiveness simply have to go bare-handed. It would be nice to see cloth gloves put in. Capes would be nice too, to symbolize nobility, or simply because they just look so cool.
- I love this idea! It always annoyed me the way it says on all the gray fox wanted posters 'wears a gray cloak' (referring to the cowl), and you can't even get one! Not so sure about the flip flops though lol!
[edit] Bedrolls
It should be possible to buy or steal a bedroll. This would be useful if you raise levels when you're miles from a bed (for example, in a very deep dungeon).
- There are portable bedroll mods available.
[edit] Imperial Dragon Armor
When I came to collect my set of shiny armor, I sort of missed the shield. A mod adding it would be quite an asset.
- The Imperial Dragon Heavy Shield and Armor mod provides improved armor and a corresponding shield.
- Personally, I always thought Spellbreaker suited the IDA rather well,
[edit] Diving Helmet
A helmet that makes the view underwater clear(er), like a diving mask. Not just a night-eye type effect.
[edit] Pokeballs
Self explanatory, those would rule!
- There is a Pokeball mod available
- This is cool, but I think it would be cooler if you could soul trap creatures, then break the souls gems with the creatures in them on the ground to release them to fight for you.
- It would be really funny if there were a mod that simply made soul gems look like pokeballs.
[edit] Bucklers
Smaller shields that you can use with 2-handed weapons or maybe it will unbalance the game.
- Yeah, that would ruin the purpose of making weapons one-handed or two-handed.
[edit] Minerals
There's more ingredients in the game than just the ones that come from plants. Why shouldn't we be able to harvest minerals from rocks or something? (You can to some extent... gold and silver nuggets can be mined).
- I am looking into possibly developing this idea. Have I correctly understood that you want to be able to pick up new ingredients from other than plants?
- more or less, yes
- If there isn't a mod to use the current mineral items (gems, metals, ores) in alchemy, there ought to be.
[edit] Clothes under Armor
In Morrowind, you could wear shirts and pants under your armor, which kinda makes sense as an iron breastplate would chafe just a little. lol. This would also help with running more enchantments.
- Some experimental mods (such as Robe Over Armour) have been made, but this is very difficult.
- That was probably taken out of the game so you don't become a complete power house at lvl. 5. I mean you have a full set of clothes AND armor on and are nearly immune to everything, it's too overpowering. Example: you have a shirt with spell reflection, pants with spell-absorption, ring of detect-life and ring for water walking, amulet with immunity to magic, cuirass with shield, greaves with immunity to poison, gauntlets with fire resistance, helmet with frost resistance, boots with shock resistance, and shield with immunity to disease. You'd be invincible!!! Walking straight into the last battle in the game getting with everything imaginable and taking 2 points of damage? That's probably why it was removed.
- Items in Morrowind had different ratings when it came to enchantments. A pair of common pants could only hold an insignificant effect, while an ebony tower shield could have almost anything. It wouldn't be too hard to replicate that to maintain balance.
[edit] More enchantments per item
Why can't I have more than one constant effect per item? There are items (ring of perfection) that have constant effects on many things all at once. If I have the money, and the soul gems, I should be able to put as many enchantments as I want on something. Maybe bring back where each item can hold "X" amount of enchantments. Like, a brass ring can hold one, but a diamond ebony ring can hold 10.
- A Multiple Enchantments mod exists.
- Same problem as clothes under armor.
[edit] Masque of Clavicus Vile
I would Like to see a better mask something like a mask used in those drama plays. A mask with a happy,or sad face that type of thing depending on fame vs. infamy and you can wear a hood over it. Like Fable`s Jack of Blades!
- A hood that ties into a cape, a mask that isn't counted as a helmet that would fit under the hood. That would make this game perfect.--Darth NANAME 19:05, 27 May 2008 (EDT)
[edit] More Household Items
They don't need to be useful (who uses paintbrushes outside the exploit anyways?), but it might be nice to have some random clutter hanging around people's houses. Just look around your house, what do you see? I'm thinking combs, fire pokers, hand mirrors, shoe racks
[edit] Bleach
- If anyone has watched the anime Bleach or read the manga, don't you think it would be awesome to have Ichigo's zanpakutou (sword), Zangetsu, in the game, as well as a full set of Shinigami clothes. There could be a normal (shikai) Zangetsu and a bankai Zangetsu that ups your speed or something. Just think about it, Bleach mixed with Oblivion...
[edit] Samurai Armor
I know it doesn't truly mesh with the Oblivion environment, but you can obtain a variety of Katanas, so why not the armor of those who used them? I would love to see the armor including the helms and masks the Samurai wore.
[edit] Trench Coats
Who doesn't like to have an awesome trench coat to wear? If somebody made this for Oblivion, think of the possibilities in textures. They could become a whole new set of light armor, even.
[edit] Bandanas and Eye Patches
Want to become a real pirate? Add some bandanas and eye patches into the game!
- Numerous mods include eyepatches, and some bandanas.
[edit] Divine Elixirs
Make dungeon exploring more fantastical, and add a few Divine Elixirs into the caves that permanently increase your Magicka or Health by a tad bit.
[edit] Interactive Equipment Between NPCs
Downloading mods that add new weapons, armors, clothing etc. are fine and dandy, but aren't applied to NPCs. One interesting mod to see would be a massive conversion of popular mods that add items to the game, applied to NPCs. That way, they wouldn't be just "bought at a store" or "found on the floor". It would make item mods much better and immersive. You could find new stuff equipped on normal civilians, or on bandits and marauders.
[edit] Kid-Friendly Massive Item Conversions
There are a few mods that take a large group of clothing/armor/weapon mods and place them on the existing NPCs, to increase immersion and variety in the game. But there should be one that does this, for kids. The already-existing ones all use mature content; some players would appreciate one that provides kid-friendly outfits (e.g., compatible with the game's standard rating of "T" for "Teen").
[edit] Mask of the fearsome blade
I'd like to see a masque that gives like +20 Blade skill, +20 Block skill, +20 destruction skill and -60 Endurance and with the looks of Fable's Masque of Jack of Blades.
[edit] Human Blood
It should be possible to drink human blood when you are a vampire instead of having to feed on a human.
- Many vampirism mods have created blood vials.
[edit] Rings shoot spells
Have rings that can shoot out spells, like fire, frost, shock
[edit] Stendarr's Hammer
They had it in Mournhold, but what if it was stolen and you had to kill a band of traveling bandits for it?
- That would be a great idea, but the enchantments on it should be different than the enchantments it had in Mournhold. For example, it should have infinite uses and the ability to destroy an opponent under 100 points of fire, frost, and shock damage. Although this could seriously unbalance the game, I think Stendarr's Hammer is a good idea.
[edit] Marvel Armor and weapons
Weapons and armor from the Marvel comics universe, Iron mans suit, Captain America's Shield, Hawkeye's bow Dr Dooms armor would work really well. This could be gained in a mission where the marvel heros get transported to Cyrodiil and your quest is to find a way to get them back home.
- See the Captain America Shield mod
[edit] Mjolnir Mark V Armor
The armor that the John 117 (Master Chief) wears in Halo.
- This has been made Armor.
[edit] Creating your own armor
Like having elven armor and adding dragon scales with ogre teeth and unicorn horn. Then naming the armor and giving it unique properties and at the end you have to forge your armor using tools. So like Alchemy where you NEED a mortar and pestle in the forgery you will NEED a repair hammer. To increase the quality of the forgery you can add calipers, tongs and shears. And then after you sell some creations you could hire staff to make forges and then hire a blacksmith.
[edit] Creating your own spell scrolls
It would probably work much like making custom spells at the Arcane University or Frostcrag except cheaper (in money) and you would need-- 1:The ability to cast a version of the spell(s) 2:A "Blank Scroll" to write on(Think "Soul Gem-Paper Version") 3:A "Mage's Quill"(To write with) 4:Enough Magicka to pay the casting cost of the spell (to power the scroll of course-otherwise it would be a piece of paper with no magicka in it)
The Blank Scroll and Mage's Quill would (probably) not be found too often or easily outside of shops and mage guilds as the cost of both the Scroll and Quill combined would be the monetary cost of the custom scroll and more expensive than an already prepared master level spell scroll.
- Why would you want to make a scroll of a spell you can already cast?
- You may for instance have a simple chameleon spell(like 20% or 25% and want to create a 100% magnitude version only to find that you don't have the needed skill required to cast it as a permanently learned spell at that magnitude or you don't have an appropriate soul gem to enchant anything with the effect or it is just too expensive to make as a learned spell at the time. You could also decide to make a multiple effect scroll that is much more powerful than anything you would normally be able to cast at your current skill level. Scrolls are also underrated as a means to conserve your magicka reserves during battle. Your question does bring to mind a possible interpretation of requirement #1 allowing for copying and stronger versions of desirable scrolls without the duplication glitch.
[edit] Longcat baton
For those of you familiar with the chans, there is a meme called "Longcat," a photoshopped image of a REALLY long cat. it would be hilarious to wield him/her in combat in oblivion as a two handed (of course) baton thats 20ft long that meowed every time you hit something! Don't worry, not only is longcat very long, hes also invulnerable. A claymore is fine too.
- Darth Vader Suit/Cape/Mask (helmet)/Light Saber
Pretty self-explanitory, and would totally kick ass.
[edit] Runescape Team Capes
For example: [1]
[edit] A Useful Broom
I think that you should be able to enchant a broom with a levitation type spell, and then be able to equip it and fly around. To overcome the cities being separate cells, there could be a limit on the height from the ground it can go, possibly linked to the strength of the enchantment. When equipped you should also be able to see your self sat on it, this offers a fun change from constant horse riding.
- Would it be possible to convince the game your broom was a horse? That seems like the simplest way to do this.
- A Enchanted Rideable Broomstick mod is in beta version.
[edit] Level "Leveled items from quest" in the Orrery
There are mods that level entire inventories of quest items however some of those items I have no interest whether they are leveled or not and the Orrery seems pointless besides the quest you may acquire and that it looks nice as well. I want someone to create a mod the gives the Orrery more purpose, i see it as functioning as the necromancer alters. You'll need to gather items ( a grand soulstone, the item and some other random yet hard to acquire item) place them on the altar, then poof, your favorite item leveled to your characters current level. If the Player inputs a non quest item, it will receive a random sigil stone enchantment, to players current level (non quest enchanted items will lose their enchantments and replaced with random sigil stone enchantments). I believe that this will bring some balance, to prevent in create über items but still allow players to retain their favorite items. Leveled Spells should not work in this feature since they are not physical items (however i think they should be level by books or perhaps new quests, like obtaining relics or something)
[edit] The Ring of Power
Ok now what I'm thinking about is that ring from Lord of the Rings or The One Ring. It could could add BIG boosts to your health, magicka, and fatigue and I'm talking big like 10'000 added on to each (the reason the numbers so big is because you would be crazy or stupid to drop that much power) with that much power you'll start treating the ring like its your child.
- It should also have like 100 percent chameleon or invisibility while you wear it and with the invisibility it breaks for 10 seconds when you attack or activate something
- It should weigh like 100 points to encourage you to give up all the rest of your stuff to keep it (because it corrupts you so much like it did to smeagol in the movie to walk around in undies)
- Maybe when you wear it it would summon a wraith or other creature that would attack the player.
- Also add something similar to the Bloodlust from Morrowind's Werewolves; you have to do something evil, or somehow serve a Daedra prince (Mehrunes Dagon himself possibly?) or it will damage you.
- Maybe a quest with it that would let you destroy it for a fame boost of a HUGE amount+ other perks. Or if you put it on w/ a high enough willpower you won't become "addicted" & You can summon the wraiths but your infamy will increase hugely and is you have a low willpower randomly a wraith will appear even if you have it off and it won't see you easily unless you do put it on. Also, it should slowly drain some attributes (i.e. Personality, Endurance etc.) When worn for long periods of time w/out high enough WP, while boosting others (Strength, speed). That way it could be more like the one from the books. Oh, and finally, If you set it down or drop it, even accidentally, there is a chance that it will disappear and pass to another person and there could be a quest to obtain it with its own pros & cons.
- How about we throw in the other nineteen rings of power, too? I want to wear Galadriel's ring, Nenya!
- Interesting idea. Once you put it on, it starts to drain your willpower and you cannot take it back off if your willpower is too low.
- Or make it a bit like the 'who the god's annoy' quest where you would have to do a quest or something to take it off. and the quest could be like you have to go to oblivion and throw it into the lava in Mehrunes Dagon's palace or something (whoever made the mod would have to also make a new realm of oblivion and a palace for mehrunes dagon).
[edit] Portable Containers
I want to see a mod that makes containers that someone could carry around with them, such as the "Covered Pots" that can be seen in some houses. These containers could reduce the weight of items put into them.
- Similar to Bags of Holding in Neverwinter Nights. A good idea but would probably require ridiculous amounts of scripting.
[edit] Trophy Heads
We can see that some NPC houses have trophy heads, ie. the bull head in Rugdumph's house. Why can't we have trophy heads in our houses? After all, what better way to remember your experiences hunting in Tamriel by hanging up trophy heads over your mantle? We could also get more animals, instead of just deer and bulls. A wolf's head would be great.
- Kind of like the person who makes trophies in Battlehorn Castle. You can have Deer, Wolf, Timber Wolf, Brown and Black bears, Mountain Lions, and Boars. But not only do you have heads but like stuffed replicas similar to Battlehorn like a Deer head over the fire, and in the corner a bear attacking one of your chairs.
[edit] Addoring Fan Marker
I personaly, enjoy beating on the fan and when I kill him, I have no Idea where he goes sometimes... I just want some kind of marker to tell me where he is so I can get there. (even if he is dead)
[edit] Extra Map Markers
Throw in about 5 or 6 extra color coded map markers. It would be cool if you could label also.
- I thought that the blue marker the player can place could be labeled as you say, and an unlimited number could be placed. It would probably be a good idea to make them only appear on the compass when you're near them, so it wouldn't become too full of markers. This would mean that things like wayshrines and ayleid wells that have no markers could be easily found again.
- There's a mod here that adds five extra markers for you to place. To the remark about ayleid wells and wayshrines, there is another mod that puts fast travel markers on all ayleid wells, doomstones, and wayshrines.
[edit] Walking Sticks
In the SI mod, Sheogorath uses his Staff as a walking stick, or cane. It would be good if someone could take this animation and make it possible to use on the player. Another great thing to add to this would be to make the cane a swordstick, so that your weapon was kept inside your cane, although I realise that might be hard to do. This would mean that mages and others who wear clothes as opposed to armour could complete the image of a 'gentleman,' as it is a bit strange to be all dressed up in fine clothes and then be carrying round a sword as well.
- Its his cane not his staff. Also, nobility would have swords on them to make them seem strong and rich.
- I believe the various cane-related animations used by Sheogorath, as well as several others, are made available to the player by the Actors In Madness mod.
[edit] Writable Parchment
I haven't seen a mod for this yet, but make it so if you have a quill, inkwell and parchment in your inventory you can write on the parchment, giving it a form of use. Also, make it so i you drop parchment, you can pick it back up.
[edit] MacGyverizer
I've always wanted to use all the useless items, like plates and calipers combinable into armors, a la MacGyver. Be able to combine mundane items into makeshift armor and weapons!
[edit] Final Fantasy Armours
A mod that adds in the outfits for the various FF character classes, such as Dragoon, and Red Mage. Especially Red mage. It looks pimpin'.
