Artifacts are specifically defined as anything with a unique appearance. This is opposed to Unique items, which are defined as those which there is only one of, but which have the same appearance as other generic items.

This is a list of artifacts that were added in the Tribunal expansion pack for Morrowind. See also Morrowind:Artifacts.

Notes
  • Armor Rating is given for characters with 100 in the appropriate armor skill.
  • Speed for weapons specifies how fast the weapon swings with higher values indicating a faster weapon.
  • Damage Ratio gives the damage per time for the weapon with higher values indicating a more powerful item. Ratios are given for the base weapon and any magic based damage the weapon may have. This is calculated by multiplying the highest damage value by the weapon's speed. Weapons which do magical damage on strike have an additional value given, which is the average damage of the enchantment.
  • Cost Per Use gives the amount of charge required to use the item at an Enchant skill of 1 and 100.
  • Only the most exceptional magical items and artifacts are included here.

Mace of Slurring

"It was crafted near the end of the second age by Kyanka, a slightly deranged Altmer weaponsmith and enchanter. He had a rather warped sense of humor, and apparently delighted at the thought of reducing opponents to a gibbering mess before crushing them to death. The mace has, admittedly, seen little use." -Torasa Arem, Museum of Artifacts

Carried by Golena Sadri in the Old Mournhold, Forgotten Sewers area in the The Thief Quest. Hardly the most useful of weapons, given that NPCs' Speechcraft skill is pretty much irrelevant, and even if it weren't, you're not going to gain any favors from them by hitting them with a big mace. This artifact is probably one of the best choices to donate to the Museum.

The hammer of the god which is mounted in the Museum of Artifacts in the Godsreach District of Mournhold. Note that the huge weight of this hammer coupled with its weak condition makes it impractical for actual use, as it will more than likely break on the first swing.

Obtained only by killing the Tribunal god Almalexia at the end of the Main Quest in Tribunal. See the The Mad God quest for more information. It is one of the best one handed swords in the game (Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon), and according to Almalexia is twinned with Trueflame.

Odd Dwemer Weapon

This seemingly-unimpressive weapon is actually a piece of the artifact Trueflame. It is carried by Karrod, a guard in the service of King Hlaalu Helseth. You will receive it during the Helseth's Champion quest. During The Blade of Nerevar quest, you will have it forged into its final form. It is ill-advised to enchant this weapon, as it will prevent you from completing the Main Quest.

Trueflame

Obtained through completing the The Blade of Nerevar quest during the Tribunal Main Quest. It is one of the best one handed swords in the game, and according to Almalexia is twinned with Hopesfire. (Morrowind, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon). This weapon is first identified as Odd Dwemer Weapon, which is missing a few parts. Once you get the parts and have them forged together, you will get the first version of this weapon, which has no enchantment, though it has a faster speed. (It is ill-advised to enchant it yourself, as this will make it impossible to complete the Main Quest.) Once you have completed the quest, you will have the full version of this sword, complete with enchantment.

BiPolar Blade
BiPolar Blade

Legend has it that a nobleman sank his fortune into creating a blade of supreme power. Two smiths on opposite ends of Tamriel created each half of the blade, unaware of the other, with the hope that no one man, save the owner of the blade, would know its true power. Unfortunately, the smiths were not given enough instruction, and created halves with enchantments that completely negated each other. -- Torasa Aram, Museum of Artifacts

An interesting blade obtained only through a miscellaneous quest. See The MatchMaker Quest for more information. This blade will cause you to get a bounty if you use it on NPCs within a town (whether they attack first or not). Best never to recharge this weapon.

You can sell this weapon to Torasa Arem in the Museum of Artifacts in Godsreach for 20,000 gold.
