Elanande's stuff[edit]

Is there any way to get back Elanande's stuff? 96.229.195.141 13:41, 22 February 2009 (EST)

I've got an idea. If you need to give away quest weapons / armor, equip them first and cast Disintegrate weapon/armor on self. Sometimes when items are removed, they are really removed from the game, then they are gone for good. But sometimes NPCs will actually store the items in their inventory, but they will equip them, so they can't be pickpocketed. But if you break them first, they can't equip them, so they just put them in their inventory and you can steal them back WRFan 00:14, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
its actually the best method to just do the quest as normal and kill all 4 target npcs since none of em serves any other purpose and doesnt even talk to you at all.
after you have done all 4 tasks simply kill all 3 warlords to get all the items you collected for em. this wont affect the quest except you get an additional entry that you killed the leader. quest will remain completed in journal even after that entry. thats what i usally do since i collect items on morrowind. — Unsigned comment by 217.186.216.245 (talk) at 15:55 on 15 September 2013‎
I managed to get Elenande's stuff and finished the quest: (1) Murder Suldreni Salandas and give his stuff to Dovor Oren. (2) Afterwards, talk to Felvan Ienith and Olvyne Dobar about "scared". (3) Kill Felvan and Olvyne but not Dovor! (4) Loot Felvan and Olvyne but do not dispose their corpses! (5) Leave the "Vacant Manor" and re-enter again after some time. You'll find Dovor's corpse and receive jounal entry 40 (I found Dovor Oren dead in the vacant manor in Mournhold; his fellow conspirators are nowhere to be found.). If you visit the Jail, you'll find the dead bodys of Felvan and Olvyne be incarcerated.

More options[edit]

FYI, I was able to kill all the nobles and still convince the two NPCs to turn themselves in just before turning in the last set of equipment, then turn in the last bit. The main guy still ended up dead and the other two in jail. This is probably a goofy way to go about it, but it does maximize the amount of content that you get to see from the quest.

Also, you need pretty high disposition to get the "scared" conversation topic (79 was not high enough for me). I had to cast Fortify Personality on myself to get it to appear. --HunterZ (talk) 00:26, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

Lack of a Peaceful Option[edit]

It's probably worth noting that the quest checks for the targets to actually be dead. Even with targets whose items can be Disintegrated and Pickpocketed, like Soscean, approaching the quest-giver with the items while the target still lives won't progress the quest. I'm playing modded, though. Can anyone else confirm? --73.99.250.175 00:39, 26 January 2022 (UTC)

I can confirm this. I've tried the same thing with Bels Uvenim and the quest giver doesn't accept the items even if they don't ask for the person to be dead. Only able to continue if you kill the Person in question.178.38.115.50 15:43, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
And confirmed in the CS. I've added a note to the article to reflect this. — Wolfborn(Howl) 21:05, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
