[edit] My Life

My name is Dylan. I run/operate a small business, Tranzerk Technologies (new site comming 1/31/07), which provides computer consulting and website design. We are also designing our first product, a virtual meeting room software.

I like to edit wikis, because I believe they give everyone a chance to contribute something helpful. I like to help people with their mistakes, although I can be a bit irascible at times.

This user frequently visits the official UESP IRC chatroom.

My first edit was the creation of the Black Hand page.

[edit] My Oblivion

I play Oblivion on the PC. I do own a 360, though, but the PC version is better (as long as you computer is good) for three reasons:

  1. Mods-Gameplay Experiance (AFLevel and OOO, among many others)
  2. Price (I can eat lunch for under $10)
  3. Mods-Graphics Experiance (BTMod and a few retextures)

Don't think this means I don't like 360 games. I have many 360 games which I find better on the 360 then the PC. It is all a matter of taste (and control schemes).
My computer recently crashed. I lost many files which were not backed up, basiclly, everything not in My Documents. Even though I still had saves, I no longer had all of my old mods, and they ceased to function. Therefore, I started a new game. Then that one had glitches (I got stuck in this black pit of nothingness, and my only save was too late, and I could not prevent the pit of doom). Another one, more glitches. I now have a working game. More about it later.

My full list of mods is available. If you have any reccomendations, post them on my Talk Page.

[edit] My News Updates

This is a section where I talk about interesting news relating indirectly to Oblivion.

This Article asks the question "How much does game length matter, on a monatary scale?" to many different game developers. Many people complain about how Morrowind was much longer then Oblivion. Unfortunatly, it looks like it will stay that way. To summerise the article, most developers essentially said "mainly, that quality is more important than quantity, and that adults don't often have the time to play through epics." Because games like Oblivion are targeted to many audiences, dev teams will spend more time on making sure the game is enjoyable if you play it for only 10 hours then making sure that the game will still be enjoyable after 100 hours of playtime. On average, the Oblivion main quest can be finished in 4 hours. To "finish" the game (complete the Main Quest, faction quests, and all side quests) would only take about 20-30 hours. All of this can be done with a level 2 character, except deadric quests, which require a level 21 character at minimum to complete all quests. Post your thoughts on my talk page.
