[edit] Leveled Creatures Lists

Notes/observations from analyzing all the leveled lists in the CS that contain any type of hostile animal (monsters, mythic animals, predators, etc).

  • Monsters/mythic animals: there are multiple leveled lists used in dungeons that contain the following creatures (e.g., "LL1MythicEnemy100"):
    • Imp, Troll, Will-o-the-Wisp, Spriggan, Minotaur, Land Dreugh, Ogre
  • Animals/predators: there are multiple leveled lists used in dungeons that contain the following creatures (e.g., "LL1Beast100"):
    • Wolf, Timber Wolf, Black Bear, Mountain Lion, Brown Bear
  • Other animals:
    • Rat: Rat is included in the list "LL1Beast100" with the other predators. However, Rat is also defined as a nuisance beast and is added to alot of other leveled lists, in particular "Lair" and "Dry Lair" LL2 lists.
    • Mud crab: The other nuisance beast, added to all of the "Wet Lair" LL2 lists.
    • Minotaur Lord: Classifying as a monster, although minotaur lords only appear in a few leveled lists with the other monsters (most notably, does appear in the boss leveled list)
    • Deer: Never aggressive, but appears in alot of the road/wilderness leveled lists
    • Boar: Never found in dungeons, i.e., is not included in the LL1Beast100 list. But does appear in road/wilderness leveled lists

  • The standard values for animals and monsters are used fairly uniformly throughout the tables except:
    • Boss level lists are 2 levels lower
    • Road lists are 2 levels lower
    • Unicorn companions are 3 to 4 levels lower
  • Wolves and Timber wolves also appear in Vampire lairs, at levels 1 and 4 respectively (standard-2)

[edit] Notes

  • There are many minor variants on the undead lists, but most of them end up equivalent to one of these. (Lichs are not present in all cases; there is one entry in each of LL1UndeadLvl100 and LL1UndeadLvl25 that is off by one level).
  • In most cases, if a skeleton is spawned, there is a 2 in 3 chance that the skeleton will be a melee skeleton, and a 1 in 3 chance that the skeleton will be a skeleton archer (all skeletons have both a melee and archer variant).
    • However, there are places where the skeleton is specfically melee, or specifically archer. These use the same levels as provided above for Bones (except a lich will never be spawned in these locations).
  • Plain wraiths have a 1 in 2 chance of being armed; Faded wraiths have a 1 in 3 chance of being armed; gloom wraiths have a 2 in 3 chance of being armed
  • The main exceptions to these lists end up being quest-specific: should the quest-specific cases be added to the main table, or just discussed on the individual cases? (They can all be summarized as 1 to 3 level offsets of the standard cases).
    • MG10, MG14: -2 on levels for all undead
    • Miscarcand: -1 on levels for most skeletons; -3 on levels for skeleton bosses; -2 on levels for zombies
    • MS06: -2 on levels for all undead
    • MS27: -1 on levels for most undead, a couple odd exceptions
    • TG11: -1 on levels for all undead

There are a fair number of quest-specific variants for the daedra:

  • Kvatch standard -1, except for in castle where there are only scamps, flame atronachs (level 4 or 5), and daedroth (level 10 or 12)
  • MG15: standard -1
  • MQ15 Caves: standard -3 to -5
  • MQ15 Garden: frost atronach -2 to -5
  • MS48: standard -1 (mostly)
  • MS94: standard -1 (mostly)

I could generate tables showing exactly what these variants look like, perhaps to include on the quest pages. Does anyone care about the details?
