Warning[edit]

Stop hand.svg Please do not add nonsense to UESPWiki, as it is considered to be vandalism. If you continue to abuse your editing privileges, this IP address will be blocked from editing. Please consider improving the work of others, not harming it. —Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 09:22, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
If you came to this page because you saw a "new messages" box, but your IP address is not 166.147.72.22, please ignore the warning above. We would be grateful if you could tell us the full title of the page you were viewing when you saw the "New messages" box - please go to UESPWiki:Purge Requests and add the page title to the reports listed there. Thank you.

the fuck did i do to deserve a warning. i have an account and have made about 2 edits without bothering to log in. and would loveee to no how they were vandalism — Unsigned comment by 24.5.58.162 (talk) at 08:37 on 2 June 2012 (GMT)

This isn't your IP address, so I assume the fact that you saw it is down to an ongoing problem that we're having. Could you tell me what page you were on when you saw the "New Messages" banner? I'll purge it, and hopefully that'll fix the problem. Sorry for the confusion! Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 09:37, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Another anon here, I saw the message on Skyrim:The_World-Eater's_Eyrie. 99.109.59.66 00:13, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
Page purged, thanks for reporting it! Vely►Talk►Email 00:17, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
I'm not the OP, but I just got there through Spriggan Earth Mother, if that helps. — Unsigned comment by 50.41.99.139 (talk) at 15:18 on 1 July 2012
I too received this warning, it was on Skyrim: Solitude. — Unsigned comment by 75.134.151.35 (talk) at 10:50 on 11 July 2012

() Warnings like this are based on your IP, not what page you were looking at. Since IPs can change, it's most likely that somebody who had this IP before did something to earn the warning. This is one of the benefits of creating an account and staying logged in - you won't end up getting warnings that were directed at somebody else who was using your IP before you. --TheRealLurlock Talk 10:57, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

I've purged the page, which should help. Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 11:01, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
For me, I was on the Skyrim: The Way Of The Voice. --24.76.166.148 04:31, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
As I was saying before, what page you were looking at doesn't matter. The warning just appears on the first page you look at using that IP. Shared IPs are common, especially in public networks like at a school or library, or any place that provides free wifi. Create an account and you won't have to worry about this again. --TheRealLurlock Talk 11:37, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
TRL: These IPs are getting the "new messages" notification because of a caching issue, not because of a shared IP. —Legoless 12:38, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
