Hello![edit]

Hello Circuitous! Welcome to UESPWiki! It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you would like to spice up your userpage, click here for a list of userboxes you can use, including a guide to making your own.

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games on the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:50, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

Image Standards, Categories[edit]

Hi Circuitous, please make sure that your images meet the image standards. Also, please remember to add categories to the files. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. :) Holomay (talk) 13:24, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Heyo. I missed the bit about aspect ratios for images. (Is there actually a compelling reason for that, or just basic standardization? I kinda liked the slimmer pics...) Anyway, I'll make sure any new images I add fit the bill, and get a proper category. As for the ones already up, I'll replace them as I get the chance. Thanks for reaching out! Aspect Ration standards are, as with most standards, about having one presentation style. Having different size pictures on similar pages (eg NPC pages) can be really off-putting when reading a few at a time. Keeping them the same improves reader experience enough that any images that don't fit the template they are used in are auto-tagged for fixing. Not all NPCs are standing straight, keeping their arms down, and showing them performing some kind of action is preferable anyway. If you browse through categories like Online-NPC Images or Skyrim-NPC Images, you can see that the 1:1 aspect ratio is an ideal standard to depict all kinds of NPC actions, poses and gestures. Also, there's enough visible background to get an idea of their surroundings. --Holomay (talk) 05:55, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
