[edit] Merco's user talk

[edit] Consecutive edits

Hiya there. We meet again. =) I notice that you've made a lot of consecutive edits to your user page. While there's no real constraints about your user page, it's generally helpful to other users if you hit the 'Show preview' button just below the edit summary. This will allow you to look at your page before actually saving it, so you can make corrections and stuff. If you don't do that, it at least helps to mark minor edits (maybe if you just tweaked some grammar or something) by selecting the 'This is a minor edit' checkbox. All these little things just help keep some semblance of order in the recent changes section, and help out the people who watch and moderate it. =) --Saruuk 08:07, 16 August 2007 (EDT)

Ok, sorry. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Merco (talkcontribs).
It's not a big deal - but if you check out the Recent Changes page you'll see what patrollers see - and we have to check each individual entry (in theory, anyway). That's why we like to have consecutive edits rolled into one where possible. Good to see another Brit on the site, BTW! --RpehTalk 08:54, 16 August 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Two little points

I've noticed you ask a lot of questions about whether or not an article should mention some fact or other. That's a good habit if it's a really big thing - changing half the site on a personal whim is probably not a good idea - but for the sake of a couple of lines you're probably best off just adding the information to the article. The worst that will happen is somebody will remove it, or possibly put it on a different page, and that's happened to everyone. The other thing is that you should sign your comments with four tilde characters (~~~~). It means that if a discussion goes on for a while it's easier to see who said what and when. Keep up the good work on spotting things that should be added! --RpehTalk 15:48, 28 August 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Name

I know that this is totally unrelated, but where did the name Merco come from? (HMSVictory 15:41, 22 November 2007 (EST))

It's a conglomerate of part of my surname, and part of 'company'. --Merco 16:18, 27 November 2007 (EST)
