Welcome[edit]

Hello Razorflame! Welcome to the wiki. I hope you enjoy using the site and find the information on it useful. If you decide you want to help improve any of our pages, we're always welcoming to new editors so feel free. You might want to look at our Getting Started page for some tips on how to begin, then play in our Sandbox for a while to practice. If you need any help or advice, please ask me or one of our mentors. Enjoy! --SerCenKing Talk 11:55, 7 May 2009 (EDT)

Cheers[edit]

No problem, I'm glad to help ; ) --Reigning Dragon 09:11, 10 May 2009 (EDT)

Consecutive Edits[edit]

Please could you use the Show Preview button rather than making multiple consecutive to articles such as you've just done with Oblivion:Nirnroot? It's very distracting for those of us who have to patrol site edits when one article keeps changing time after time after time and if people could spend a little more time previewing, it would be very helpful. Thanks. –RpehTCE 16:41, 12 May 2009 (EDT)

Sorry, it's a habit that I am already into. I'll try to break it on this site, but I might not be able to. I'll try, though. Cheers, Razorflame 16:43, 12 May 2009 (EDT)

Morrowind[edit]

Ugh...I just started to play this game, and the game is a bit aggrivating, especially when you fail at making potions >.> Most of the time that I try to attack something, I end up never being able to hit it. I manage to hit once every like ten attacks, which to me, seems to be a very small percentage. Anyways, why can't I hit often enough, and are there any items that are worth picking up early in the game? Razorflame 13:54, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

There are some good tips here. The best bet is to avoid combat until you can level your skills through training. –rpehTCE 13:59, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
I've already read the link you gave me, but thanks for the link anyways. What level would a good level be before starting to immerse oneself into combat? I have a Long Blade skill of 45 currently. Razorflame 14:03, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
That should be enough, as long as you don't try taking on anything too big. Just make sure you're using a long blade and not something you think ought to be a long blade (that used to get me). –rpehTCE 14:09, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I am sure that I am using a Long Blade. I am using a Silver Longsword, which should be a Long Blade, right? I've been able to kill things like Rats and Mud Crabs, but for some reason, the game really hates it when I run into a Slaughterfish, and I end up dying because I never hit them >.> Anyways, I've just been reading about some things about Morrowind, as well as going through playing it, and I have found that Alchemy supplies are so incredibly readily available, it is kind of scary. I've gotten close to 500+ ingredients just from plants so far and I've only played for like 3 hours. Anyways, Morrowind is pretty fun so far, although it is hard to tell when you are out of sight of the guards so that you can steal great stuff from the houses and stuff like that. Are there any items at all that if I get, I should never sell? Thanks for the help in advance...Razorflame 14:24, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm sorry but I'm not providing 1-1 help for every new player. Read the wiki. –rpehTCE 21:49, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
I understand that you won't give me one on one advice, but if I have a quick question about something that isn't answered by the wiki, can I still ask you for help? One such question I have right now is this: Do you think that the abandoned shack southwest of that one city is a good choice for a house or a place to keep loot that I get because I really need to get rid of some things in my inventory something fierce. Also, I managed to get my first two pieces of Daedric Armor: I went through Koroguh and killed everything in there. I was only Level 6 at the time. I managed to steal the key to the Redoran Vault and looted it for the Ebony Armor and pieces of Glass Armor, and then I went to the Telvanni Vault and managed to A) Kill two Storm Atronachs (level 5) AND 2 Ordinators (Level 5) and looted the vaults there. I got another quick question as well. Is the only way into the upper Redoran Vault through picking the lock and incapacitating the guards there, because it is a pain to have to steal your items from the evidence chest. And my last question and the one that I would like you to answer, even if you don't want to is this: If I cast the Mark spell in the Abandoned Shack, and then travel elsewhere, I can use the Recall spell to travel back to the Abandoned Shack instantly, right? Thanks, Razorflame 17:11, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

It's important to know how to use the wiki, and Help:Contents gives a comprehensive look at how to find or edit the information contained here. The Search box is the best resource in most cases, and see the help page for hints on refactoring your search. If you have thoroughly searched the wiki and still need help, there are always people on the forums here and here. If you have a wiki specific question and cannot find the answer in all your searches, see UESPWiki:IRC on how you can join the UESP wiki chat channel.

Combat is difficult when beginning. Hit% is based on skill, current fatigue and luck (also, have the targeting reticle on). Damage is based on the weapon, the player's strength and the length of the swing animation. So for extra punch, hold the weapon back as far as it will go before swinging it.

As your Sneak skill gets better, the "being watched" indicator becomes more accurate.

Houses->An Abandoned Shack has the details on your preferred location, and yes, Mark and Recall works like that.

See Morrowind:Vivec_Redoran#Notes for more information on that. Lukish_ Tlk Cnt 21:10, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
