Invisible Script[edit]

What do people think about using that invisible text for spoilers?

Maybe not. I haven't seen the skins, I just use default, but it would of course only work if the text is against a white background. However, if you make a table and specify #FFFFFF for the background color AND the text, it would probably override anything in the skin, much like the tables out there with alternating colors for readability. (See the Alchemy Ingredients section I've been doing a lot of work on.) Might work. Would have to ask people using different skins what it looks like. -- TheRealLurlock 23:33, 30 May 2006 (EDT)
I thought about it some, and I don't know if people would really want to bother with highlighting text to check for spoilers. And most of the spoilers are on the walkthrough sections, which should usually have a "{{spoiler}}" somewhere on the page. --Aristeo 10:25, 31 May 2006 (EDT)

Heh. You made my paragraph accurate. ;-) FYI: Bloodgrasss, Spiddal Stick and Harrada are listed in the script as Creature Ingredients. I believe this is true throughout the game, as those three plants are considered to be creatures. Either that or they were some of the last ingredients to be created, so they just put them at the end of the last list (which happened to be creature ingredients.) Anyway, it probably does not matter, but I figured I'd bring it up in case for some odd reason it did matter. --stotch 21:24, 10 June 2006 (EDT)
Well, I already had that data pretty much ready. (I was the one who created the original list of incompatible ingredients that you moved to that page, if you hadn't noticed.) As for the 3 Oblivion ingredients, I figure since you harvest them the same way as plants, they should go there, even if some of them do attack you. Plus, if you leave an Oblivion Gate open long enough, you can continually re-harvest from the same plants over and over, just like regular plants. My guess is they were thrown in at the end because they were a special category, being Oblivion-only ingredients. I don't suppose it really matters what's in what column, I only seperated out the Mushrooms column because the Plants column was too long, so now it fits nicely on 1 screen. I also found it odd that Beef and Ham were not listed under Creature Ingredients, but then, since I've never seen a cow or pig in Oblivion, it sort of makes sense... -- TheRealLurlock 21:36, 10 June 2006 (EDT)

I don't mind at all! There's plenty of books to go around. I'm pasting from CS, using the Book Info template at the top of the page and then cleaning up the format, usually just bolding titles for reading ease. I'm also adding Oblivion refs to the index pages where relevant. Many Morrowind titles have been transferred without any text change although I've just found that the Mages Guild charter has new addendums from Traven. :) --Actreal 00:11, 25 June 2006 (EDT)

Potion Base Strengths[edit]

Since you're so handy with the construction set, I was wondering if I could ask a favour, that would help me figure out the equation that determines potion strengths. Would it be possible to see if the CS lists base strengths (i.e. values at some probably unspecified set of conditions) for the various potion effects? What is a book?[edit]

In my earlier edits, I deliberately didn't include things like Macabre Manifest and Mysterium Xarxes in Tamriel:Books because I didn't think they counted as books.

The Macabre Manifest (and similar quest "notes") don't provide any useful information outside the context of the quest (and may prove to be spoilers).

The Mysterium Xarxes and Tome of Unlife (and similar) have no text whatsoever and are just quest items in the shape of books.

Neither type is available in the game outside of a particular quest.

I'm not sure whether you've thought about these issues or you've just added them to the index seeking for completeness. I'm interested in your views as you are doing the hard work of putting all these books into the Wiki (for which I am indeed grateful). --Actreal 01:44, 29 June 2006 (EDT)

All your comments seem reasonable, and I too have been wondering about the multi-volume pages (as they do end up being quite long). Your reasoning on the Macabre Manifest is solid - without the pictures though, the other entries are not particularly useful ATM. I'm happy with what you've gone with so I'll leave it as is.
