my first time playing daggerfall i've been wanting to play it for years.

i got out of the tutorial dungeon which was way harder then it needed to be anyways i found my way to the first town however i cant seem to find the main story quest

also none of the npcs will talk to me cause apparently everyone in this place seems to hate wood elves.

so anyways what are some invaluable tips for a new player like myself (other then not rolling as a wood elf if you want npcs to talk to you)

I haven't started playing Daggerfall yet, myself, so I can't offer any suggestions of my own. But I enjoy watching gamers stream Daggerfall on Twitch, so you might consider checking out people's streams and try asking them in chat. Most of them seem pretty friendly and would probably enjoy giving you tips on getting started.

You'll get letters eventually from the various players in the Main Story. But to be honest I would suggest ignoring the main quest for a long time if not entirely--the real meat of Daggerfall is in the guilds and sidequests and stuff. the main story is neat, sure, but also really convoluted and easy to botch entirely without knowing it.

Oh, and it's not really that you're a wood elf. It's just that you PER is probably low-ish and you have no rep in the area.

Join a guild! Camp outside a cemetery and kill stuff! Save often!

Also, isn't the Main Quest very much level-locked? As I said, I've never played Daggerfall myself yet-- but the streamers I've been watching have said something to that effect IIRC.
