So I got the quest to join the Dark Brotherhood but before I actually joined them, I was infected with vampirism and now can't find the note that tells you to meet somebody in my inventory or wagon. And before anyone says, I know that the Dark Brotherhood is invitation-only and you can't join them if you get kicked out/fail the quest but can I edit the game files to make my character be in the dark brotherhood or is there a cheat/command I can use? If there is, how?

There is a command if you are playing on Unity. open the console and enter "guildjoin DarkBrotherHood"
If you are on DOS, then no luck.

So can I import my save from DOS to Unity, type in that command and join the Dark Brotherhood.

Sure, you can import from DOS -> Unity, but not backwards!
