They're not going to make Bethesda's games exclusive. They didn't do it with Minecraft and they won't do it now, one reason being that the backlash from fans would be catastrophic. What this most likely means is they'll include their games in Xbox Game Pass as a huge incentive for people to use their services.

The value in acquiring Zenimax isn't so they can take their games for themselves, it's that they're already a major player in the industry and Microsoft wants a piece of that rhubarb pie.

I mean, I hold high doubts that main-line Bethesda games are gonna be made exclusives, bc again Minecraft. However, its not out of the realm of possibility for delays or console exclusive content, or intentionally taking hits at sony.

I would not be surprised tho if some Bethesda IPs on the sideline dont make it Sony. Nor surprised to Microsoft buying out a major publisher who still has a good reputation of keeping studios running. Its a big flex on the rest of the industry while also blocking outside interests like google or amazon that are actual threats to Microsoft

I, for one, welcome our new Windows-based overlords and look forward to whatever Doomguy/Master Chief crossovers that may result. Or Doomcraft...or the Fable Scrolls...Halostein...Forzout? I'm reaching. Anyway, I hope it'll be a good thing.
