I feel like Forrest Gump, running across the game world. Had to find breaches in the Rift and Eastmarch, which I'd never even been to. I mean, it's not horrible, since I grab a few shards along the way, but it goes against all my instincts to explore at a slow and leisurely pace.

Yes, that's a common sort of quandry when you're new to the game, or playing on a new character, and then they have an event which requires you to go to zones you haven't been to yet on that character. Should you go ahead and jump into the zones just for the event (or Psijic quests, etc.)? Or should you forego participating in the event on that character, and stick to older characters who've already explored those zones?

Another situation where this comes up is when you start a new character, decide to skip the latest tutorial and port straight to your alliance's starting city to begin the Main Quest and play the content in order, but then you've got all these NPCs trying to get you to do the pre-quests for the various chapters, or run off to one of the DLC zones.

You can take your time with this quest. It's actually a good sight seeing adventure if you're new to those zones.

The real issue is when you have to do it all over again on an alt. The grind is insane.
