Lord Rugdumph gro-Shurgak

Lord Rugdumph gro-Shurgak is a pompous Orc noble who speaks in malapropisms. He and his daughter, Lady Rogbut gra-Shurgak, live on Lord Rugdumph's Estate north of Cheydinhal. Being an old friend of Burz gro-Khash, he has requested assistance from the Fighters Guild to track down his daughter, who has gone missing.

Inside his big mansion, Lord Rugdumph lives the comfortable life of luxury, totally ignoring the fact that his very own daughter hates the upper-class lifestyle and the concept of being a 'lady'. He wakes up early at 4am and then spends the whole day wandering lazily around the second floor while occasionally trying his best to communicate with his unhappy daughter. At 8pm he heads downstairs and picks up some food and consumes it for two hours until his bedtime at 10pm. During the quest, he will skip both dinner and sleep and just walk impatiently around, waiting for the Fighters Guild to come to his aid.

He wears an expensive set of upper-class attire, a blue velvet outfit along with a pair of gold trimmed shoes and, around his neck, a leveled piece of jewelry. He carries around a green silk garment and a large sum of gold.

When Burz gives you the contract, he will immediately suggest that it is one of great importance: "I've got more for you. Important stuff, actually. You need to go talk to Lord Rugdumph." When asked about Lord Rugdumph, he will reveal that he has a personal connection with the client: "He's an Orcish noble. A fine man. Our families go back a bit. Anyway, his daughter is missing. Head to his estate and talk to him. Find his daughter. And mind your manners! I don't want you embarassing [sic] me!" He will bid farewell by hinting at Lord Rugdumph's peculiar behavior: "Go help Lord Rugdumph. And wipe that smile off your face!"

He will not even greet you before the related quest is initiated, but once you have the assignment, it's another matter: "Ah... you are from the Fighters Guild, I resume. Good show. I am Lord Rugdumph gro-Shurgak. Let us conversate on the Lady Rogbut. I fear that whilst out rock-picking, she was apprehensive. Stolen away! My suspension is that ogres have abjected her! Please search to the east of my sprawling abode. They have been known to vacate these premises. I am most gracious and truly woeful." On the subject of ogres, he will hiss out: "Horrible creatures! Replete with horror and evil. They roam freely eastward of the estate. I look forward to you exterminizing them." and "Please, rescue my daughter from these brutes! I fear for her safe return!" He will send you on your way with the words: "Precedeth most urgentlike."

When you finally return with Lady Rogbut, he will be grateful, although still speaking in tongues: "You found my belabored daughter! I will tell Burz gro-Khash about your indentures! Take this. It has been passed in my family for many generators." And "Words cannot express my gratification for your help."

The rescue of Lady Rogbut from the ogres will be talked about by both citizens across Cyrodiil and also by members of the Fighters Guild. Citizens can be heard mentioning that they agree with Lord Rugdumph's decision to hire the Fighters Guild instead of the rival Blackwood Company: "If Lord Rugdumph had used the Blackwood Company, who knows how it would have turned out.", "The Fighters Guild got Lady Rogbut out safe and sound. With the Blackwood Company, you never know....", "Fighters Guild is still better for sensitive jobs, and you know it." and "If you wanted your daughter rescued, who would you hire? Blackwood Company? Not me. Can't trust them." Members of the Fighters Guild will also talk about Lord Rugdumph's reluctance to contract the Blackwood Company: "Lord Rugdumph was going with the Blackwood Company, then thought better of it. We have to do something about them." They may also optimistically say: "If our new hard hand keeps closing contracts like the Rugdumph one, we'll be all right."

Notes[edit]

When asked about rumors, Lord Rugdumph will randomly make several entertaining statements:

  • "Trolls, I have been foretold, are particular to unflammable weapons."
  • "The will-o-the-wisp is a luminous being. It has naturalized residences to many types of spells."
  • "I am resident to encounter the minotaur. Its horny protuberants cause me great conflagrations."
  • "Though I am replicant to spread rumors, I am led to believe the philogy of skeletous beings makes them resistive to magic."

Along with a string of spoken greetings and goodbyes:

  • "Speaketh you on."
  • "Hither to me, good varlet."
  • "We are so very sooth."
  • "Go to, bold fighterperson."
  • "In sooth, mostly goodly done."
  • "Anon us most soon again, for sooth."
  • "We is most pleased... eth... ified."
