Meridian Guardians[edit]

This page currently lists the golden Meridian enemies as a type of Mournful Aegis. They might share attack animations, but so do Air Atronachs; it is inaccurate to call these creatures Mournful Aegises as they have nothing to do with Yokudan tombs. Bruccius Baenius calls these creatures "Meridian guardians", which seems like a suitable species name to me in the absence of a generic type. —Legoless (talk) 23:41, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

Name of Creature[edit]

I remember a discussion in Discord about whether or not these creatures are actually called "Mournful Aegis", and I'd like to place this here for the record as a source for the name. -MolagBallet (talk) 03:34, 17 September 2021 (UTC)

The discussion was about Iratan the Lightbringer and Symphony of Blades being falsely labeled as Mournful Aegises. Lore wise, Mournful Aegises are Yokudan creations that guard Yokudan crypts, but Iratan and Symphony are Auroran-like daedra that use the Mournful Aegis and Air Atronach animation rig but are not them. Rim of the Sky insists on putting their data as Mournful Aegis as a placeholder due to some mesh name indicating as such, but that would mislead our readers. A mesh name is better suited for notes.Zebendal (talk) 03:44, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
I'm aware of the Meridian Guardian discussions, I'm talking about a different one. -MolagBallet (talk) 03:54, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
