Daggerfall:Taverns
The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995
A Tavern is a place where you can buy food and drinks and rent a room. Although you don't need to drink or eat, it increases game immersion. The price to rent a room is usually between 5 and 10 gold pieces per 24 hours. However with a high mercantile skill you can haggle it down to under 5 gold pieces per 24 hours. High ranking members of Knight Orders may even rent a room for free. There are normally numerous Taverns in a town or city and it is very rare for a town to not have at least one. Taverns are also favored meeting places for quest related NPCs.
