A portal dais

A portal dais, (also spelled portal-dais)[1] is a raised platform designed to host a portal. There were many of them in the Deadlands, crisscrossing the landscape. By the mid-Second Era, they had fallen much into disuse.[2]

In Summerset Isle, specifically in the city of Lillandril, there was also a portal dais intended to transport individuals to the island of the College of Sapiarchs. The complex had intentionally been set apart to function as a sanctuary and a dedicated space for scholarly pursuits. Given that research and academic endeavors demand seclusion and a tranquil environment, the Sapiarchs employed magic for their travel between the island and the mainland. Access to the dais for those outside the Sapiarch ranks required special permission. A regent, like Proxy Queen Alwinarwe, had the authority to grant such permission. In 2E 582 the portal dais was manned by Portal Master Astirhil.[3]
