'Uriel Mantiarco'[edit]

I have removed references to Uriel's original surname being Mantiarco as this is simply not true. His father's name is always given as 'King Mantiarco', indicating that Mantiarco is his first name. This is standard practice both in Tamriel and IRL eg the current ruler of Great Britain is King Charles III, not 'Charles Elizabeth', 'King Windsor' or anything similar. Unless someone can come up with actual evidence of Mantiarco being used as a surname these references need to be removed on other pages where they appear eg Lore:People M#Mantiarco as well.--Draugluin (talk) 03:25, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Agreed! -Dcsg (talk) 06:10, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
Normally I would agree based on how Mantiarco is referred but Brief History of the Empire v 2 explicitly states "In truth, his surname was Mantiarco from his father's line." so I'm not sure how other way to see it. Is there something I'm missing? The Rim of the Sky (talk) 06:13, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
Disagreed! Let's slap a citation on it this time! -Dcsg (talk) 06:23, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
I stand corrected! It's a bit of a weird inconsistency in lore as usually rulers are referred to by their given name (King Helseth) or their full name (Uriel Septim VII). pauses for search through lore library Actually Brief History of the Empire (which originated in Daggerfall) only mentions Mantiarco as Uriel's surname. The Morrowind devs who wrote Biography of the Wolf Queen & The Wolf Queen must have assumed 'King Mantiarco' was the correct style. Of course, for all we know his name could have been Mantiarco Mantiarco!--Draugluin (talk) 13:02, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
Given that there appears to be consensus on the issue, I have gone ahead and restored the information with citations. — Wolfborn(Howl) 03:25, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
