Walkthrough[edit]

This quest starts when you find a journal in one of the houses in Sula. Go to the cemetery, and you'll find a white guar there. You'll have to give it 10 bottles of water and find a special bone (which is nearby on one of the graves) before you can gain its trust, but once you do, it loyally serves as a mount.

Journal Entries[edit]

A Tame Animal (ODDDesertGuarQuest)
Stage Finishes Quest Journal Entry
10 I've found a diary in one of the houses in Sula. In it, the author tells of his encounter with a white guar, not far from the old weathered cemetery east of Sula, halfway to Kazbai.
20 I've found the guar far from the old, weathered cemetery. But what is it doing here? The animal seems untrustworthy to me. But how could I change that?
25 I've found a strange bone.
30 I've won the guar's trust using 10 precious bottles of water, which I gave the animal to drink.
40 Finishes quest☑ I've won the animal's trust by throwing him a bone I found in the cemetery. The guar knew the thing's smell. I think that I can now try to ride on it. But I should keep in mind that its thirst is likely to be greater, the more I ride on it. Also, I should dismount when it drinks or I want to give it orders.
Notes
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  • On PC It is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage ODDDesertGuarQuest stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
