I met a sailor recruiting for war against the Dreadsail pirate fleet. I agreed to join a landing party for a mission.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Speak to Researcher An'Xeh in Gonfalon Bay.
  2. Speak to Scholar Arlance inside Sanity's Edge.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

While exploring through Gonfalon Bay, you may come across the Breton Yeoman Geline in the western docks of the city. Speak to him, and he will explain that House Dufort is having an issue with Dreadsail pirates:

What's the mission?
"We are prosecuting a war against the Dreadsail pirate fleet and the Admiral ordered me to gather as many capable fighters as I can muster for a landing party. Need about a dozen, all told."
I'll join your landing party.
"You can use the dinghy there to ferry your party to the flotilla's flagship, the Lofte Empyrean.
Report to Purser Ashcroft and she'll see that you're accounted for."
Anything else you can tell me about this mission?
"Just that it's incredibly dangerous. The Dreadsails are some of the nastiest pirates we've ever seen and their pillaging has gotten out of control in recent months.
It's no wonder the admiral is out for blood."

Make your way to Dreadsail Reef, which is located in the far northwestern corner of High Isle, but Yeoman Geline will allow you to take his boat as a means of direct transport. You will need to enter the trial and speak with Purser Ashcroft to complete the quest. He is found on the Lofte Empyrean, a safe ship at the start of the trial. Here you will also be able to pick up the quest Reavers of the Reef, but Dreadsail Reef cannot be tackled alone and you will need to find a trial group to continue on any deeper.

Yes, reporting in for the landing party.
"Arrival confirmed. I'll make certain your pay is waiting for you when you return. One less worry to have on your mind before a large-scale battle.
Are you ready to get started?"
I am.
"Good, good. Admiral Galvendier will brief you on your mission himself. It is of the highest importance.
And don't forget to make use of the resources here in the hold. Take every advantage we can give you."

Notes
* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
