Nightmares are shadowy hungers located within the Dreaming Quarter at Bastion Nymic. They are among the trash mobs leading up to the first boss, and appear from violet rifts once combat begins.
During the fight against the Dreadful Herald, Nightmares will occasionally be summoned. Once killed, the Nightmares produce a dark fissure which you can synergize with to see Vaermina's Nightmares. Killing Vaermina's Nightmares reduces the amount of times the Herald can resurrect.
