Skaafin[edit]

I would opt for restoring all information claiming that he is a Herne. Even if he does use a Skaafin model, the Herne are very similar (judging by the screenshots from Battlespire), so we should treat this like the case of the Auroran Battlemage, who uses a Golden Saint model. Not to mention that Ghorev's model resembles a Herne much more than the Battlemage's model resembles an Auroran. We could add a note similar to the one on the Battlemage's page: "he is technically a renamed Skaafin", but first I would make sure if he's not reskinned too, as his skin color seems to be different than the Skaafin's yellow. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 10:04, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

I disagree. While he is called Herne Ghorev, I don't think that he is supposed to be a Herne at all. Herne is in this case likely a title moreso than anything else (compare with the word daedroth and the creature Daedroth). All the other bosses in the location are Daedra that are clearly associated with the Daedra they serve. Hoarvor Daedra for Mephala, and Nocturnal for, well, Nocturnal. Ghorev is clearly supposed to be a servant of Clavicus Vile, but the Herne are not associated with Vile at all. Ghorev uses a Skaafin model, and the Herne don't really look much like the Skaafin at all; unlike the Golden Saints and Aurorans. Skaafin are commonly and only associated with Clavicus Vile, so it would only follow the pattern if Ghorev was one. It would be strange if the only time a "Herne" appears in the game it would be in the service of Clavicus Vile, and not a Prince like Hircine. The Auroran was both clearly stated to be what its name suggested, and was found in the service of the Prince it is most commonly associated with. Herne Ghorev is none of those things. Unless it is confirmed or proven that Ghorev is a Herne (by more Herne like him showing up in the game, for example), I think that Ghorev should remain labeled as a Skaafin. Stating that "the Herne are not associated with Vile at all" or that "Skaafin are commonly and only associated with Clavicus Vile" is entirely speculative. Skaafin have only recently been introduced, and many types of Daedra have multiple loyalties (e.g. Dremora serving Molag Bal). It is very clear that Herne Ghorev is intended to be a Herne; per normal Daedric naming conventions, "Herne" is his clan and therefore his species. For example, see Herne Egahirn. Vordur is correct that this is another case similar to ESO's Auroran Battlemage, so I've kept Skaafin in the infobox and added a clarifying note. Unless we have some sort of evidence to the contrary, I don't see how we can lend any credence to the theory that an enemy labelled Herne is not in fact a Herne. —Legoless (talk) 16:44, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
