The layout of an Enhancement card.

Throughout your adventures, you may find that your items need an upgrade. Enhancements are cards that are slotted underneath your Item Cards to give them an Enchantment or Upgrade.

Enchancing Items can only be done at Strongholds. The cost for Enchanting or Upgrading is shown on the bottom right of your Equipment, if applicable. Items that can be Enchanted will show their cost in Soul Gem Components, while items that can be Upgraded will show their cost in Ore Components. After choosing which item you want to Enhance, you can pay that price to draw a card from the Upgrades/Enchantments deck. If you don't like the Enhancement you drew, you can Push the draw by paying an additional Ore Components or Soul Gem Components depending on what type of Enhancement you are drawing.

Some game effects (such as Skills) may allow you to draw one or more additional cards. This effect only occurs on the first draw, not on any further draws you Push for. Items can have an Enchantment and Upgrade at the same time.

Each Enhancement Card has three elements. The top of the card lists an Enchantment. The right of the card lists an Upgrade for Weapons that applies additional damage to one or both of the first two attacks. Finally, the bottom of the card shows an Armor icon which can be applied to your Armor as an Upgrade, adding to your Armor's protection.

Upgrading or Enchanting an item does not increase the value of an item when selling it.
