The date is Morndas, 12th of Second Seed and I'm probably Working at the moment.

about me

Real Name: Robert Peter Edward Herbert (hence rpeh)

I came to TES with Oblivion but I'm now heading backwards in time, playing Morrowind and Redguard.

I'm currently working as a developer for a large shipping company, where, in contrast to my previous job, I have lots of interesting and rewarding work to keep me busy. The lesson here was: If you're in a job where you hate the work and where your managers are totally clueless - quit. I'm very much a Microsoftie, so C#, ASP.NET, Javascript and MS-SQL are my typical tools of choice. I still keep my hand in with x86 assembler though. Current projects include optimising a 1/2 TB database, writing various applications that have to work right around the world and generally being a nerd.

As one of the site administrators I'm often found patrolling the Recent Changes page, trying to make sure the site is kept in good order. If you're here because I just tweaked, changed or deleted your post then feel free to ask me about it on my talk page. I promise it was for the best of reasons.

personal projects
  • Factions: Add description to the the Factions pages. I've finally added all the missing information, now I just have to work out what it all means.
  • Location Codes: Add coc location codes to all most of the places in Cyrodiil and The Shivering Isles. This is gradually happening through the new Place Summary template and may involve the creation of several new location pages. I don't want to go too far down that road, though.
  • Morrowind: Having finally started this game, finish it! Then explore it properly. Then start making proper edits to the pages rather than simply uploading images. Not that there's anything wrong with adding images, of course.
site projects
  • Oblivion Places Redesign Project: Helping Nephele with the place maps. Oblivion-wise, this is largely complete - just the walkthroughs are needed. Shivering Isles still needs work though.
  • Oblivion NPC Redesign Project: A major project to redesign the pages for all Oblivion's NPCs, adding details of their schedules, unique dialogue and more.
  • Image Cleanup Project: Helping TheRealLurlock sort out the site's worst images (many of which were uploaded by me, alas). I think this is finished now although the odd bad one comes up now and then.
  • Morrowind Map: I've got all the Morrowind map tiles - now they need gamma correcting, sorting, combining etc etc...
  • RoBoT: Develop my bot and make it as useful and productive as NepheleBot.
future projects
  • Generic NPCs: The Factions pages have a lot of red links on them at the moment. Some of these are links that need adjusting to point to the correct pages but some should be fixed by creating pages to describe the related NPC properly as has already happened for some at the NPCs page. This might also end up being a site project. It will include things like Vampires too.
  • References: I'd like to get more references in the Tamriel area to better link pages together. Now the cite extension is on the wiki, that should be much easier.
  • Redguard: At some point, play this game if I can get the various extra stuff you need working!
  • Oblivion Map: Run my image cleaner over the map tiles to get rid of those nasty lines.
finished projects
  • NPC Images: Timenn and I made sure we had a picture of all the game's NPCs. If you find one that's missing, let one of us know!
  • Quest Icons: Grabbed and uploaded all the quest icons so Eshe could add them to the game's quest pages using TheRealLurlock's template. Life's better when you get to share!
  • Inns: Created pages for all Cyrodiil's inns to satisfy my inner alcoholic.
  • Tamriel Locations: Added details of Cyrodiil places to the Tamriel area.
  • City Maps: Created maps with keys for Cyrodiil's cities.
  • Location Images: Grabbed images of all (I think!) the beautiful locations in Cyrodiil.
  • Quest Stages: Added the console codes for quest stages to most of the quests in the main game and SI.
  • SI Map: Helped Daveh and Timenn clean up the Shivering Isles Map.
