Botram the Hammer's House

Botram the Hammer's House is a shack in Bruma's southern district.

It is the home of Botram the Hammer, an elderly retired warrior. It is next to the Bruma market and The Restful Watchman, and just across from Ananril's House.

On the front porch are two chairs and a table hosting a bottle of Cyrodilic ale and a copy of Brief History of the Empire, v1, while tucked away behind the house is a non-respawning chest of "hidden stash" holding a random leveled mix of gems, jewelry, gold, soul gems and ingots.

The shack consists of a single but well-decorated room, with a fireplace, a cooking pot and a small table with food and drink. Near the door is a crate with some cheap weapons and armor on top, while a nearby shelf holds a brown bear pelt, a mammoth tusk and a Nord war horn. On a nearby chest of drawers is a Novice-locked strongbox and an amulet of Stendarr, while on the far side of the room is a bed, an apprentice-locked chest and a knapsack.

Half-hidden under the bed is a trap door to the Bruma Caverns, which you will discover during Absent Antiquity, when thief Atienne Guilette will attempt to use it to escape some bandits, in the process chasing Botram out of his house. Despite his agitation, it turns out that Botram is well aware of where the trapdoor leads as Crecius Rodlin at the Camp of the Devout will explain: "Aera and I, we... we escaped in the night, through the Bruma Caverns. Botram let us use his house as a quick escape route."

Notes[edit]

  • The front door has an Adept lock and is unlocked between 8am and 10am, 12pm and 1pm and 6pm and 10pm, when Botram is home and not sleeping.
  • The two barrels and the knapsack respawn; all other containers in the shack do not.
  • The building occupies the same location as Istrius Brolus' House in Oblivion.
