Replacement of the image.[edit]

I took this image from downloaded footage that got deleted. So that'll explain the bad quality. it's only temporary but i'm sure once the game is released there will be a better image pascaliedema 13:02, 6 November 2011 (CET)

That fact that the footage was deleted makes me suspect its in violation of copyright, that means this image is as well. --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 12:04, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
I don't know. I put as the license that it was an image that was taken from the elder scrolls series. So i thought it was ok. pascaliedema 13:11, 6 November 2011 (CET)
Well, if the footage was removed i'd say not. As Beth don't really want it up obviously. And it's a UESP image, not ES image. ES image is created by them. UESP image is created by us but using there components/games. --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 12:14, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Did you get the image from another site, pascaliedema? If so, where. rpeh •TCE 12:53, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
I think that it was screen shotted from that 3 hour footage by the sounds of it. --Kiz ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 12:56, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Yeah i took the image from that video. pascaliedema 13:58, 6 November 2011 (CET)
There's a similar image here but I dont know if they're exactly the same. You have to click the "Show Spoiler" button to see the image. Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 13:08, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
The place in the pictures on the link you posted is the exact same place my picture is taken. I even checked it in the video. This guy has probably taken those screens from the exact same video. pascaliedema 14:14, 6 November 2011 (CET)

() If the original footage was deleted for copyright violation, then all screenshots captured from the footage are copyright violations. Therefore, I think the image warrants immediate deletion. I definitely don't understand why the image has been re-uploaded and now has a cleanup tag instead of any type of deletion tag. --NepheleTalk 14:55, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

I didn't think it came from the leaked footage but from some other video. Pictures of M'aiq are all over the internet now and don't seem to be the result of any copyright vio. I simply re-uploaded it as a square image to fit with our image standards for NPCs. rpeh •TCE 16:49, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, I only just put together the chronology of events -- and realized that this whole discussion didn't even start until after the image had been been re-uploaded, etc. But now that we know the image's source, what should be done? --NepheleTalk 17:25, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
I looked at that image for the longest time, and, for whatever reason, came to the conclusion that it came from some of the more official video's. Just read the entire discussion, and that is clearly not the case. We'll see a LOT of this in the coming days, I'm sure, but just for the sake of keeping our policy intact; speedy. --Krusty 17:30, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
If it came from unofficial, leaked footage then yes: it should be deleted - speedily. rpeh •TCE 17:49, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
I took this image myself from a 3 hour long gameplay video i downloaded somewhere. But other images are very similiar to mine. They are taken at the same place so they will probably be taken from the same video. pascaliedema 19:21, 6 November 2011 (CET)
Since you previously said that the video was subsequently deleted, I have to conclude that the video was illegal. So I'm going to delete the image. Once you have your own copy of the game, you're free to upload any screenshots you create. In the meantime, however, the chances are that any videos you find are not legal sources for content. --NepheleTalk 21:38, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
