Net Gain of MagickaEdit

I've removed the VN tag and added a bit more text after the following test.

Start - 250/250 Magicka
Drank a Fortify Magicka 66pts for 188s potion - 316/250 Magicka
Drank a Fortify Int 66pts for 188s potion - 483/382 Magicka
F/Magicka wears off - 417/382 Magicka
F/Int wears off - 273/250 Magicka

The figures don't quite match what is on the article because I didn't double my Int attribute, but the information is definitely correct. –RpehTCE 13:20, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

I added one more method of the "net gain" spell glitch and added formulae for both, which I calculated some time ago just out of curiosity. Hope it's not too mathematical. Sethiel 08:48, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Useless as a constant effect enchantment?Edit

It seems that Fortify Magicka does not actually increase your maximum magicka as it does in the later games, so potions will not increase your magicka past your normal limit, even if you have a constant effect Fortify Magicka enchantment on, like from the Ring of Aesliip. Should this be noted as a bug? Xolroc (talk) 12:21, 16 September 2013 (GMT)

I know this reply is very late, but others may have the same question, as I did. To make a CE fortify magicka enchantment useful in Morrowind, do the following: 1) unequip the enchanted item, 2) max out your magicka by resting or using restore potions/scrolls, 3) equip the enchanted item. Now your available magicka will be greater than the maximum, allowing you to cast a spell that requires more magicka than you would have normally. So it isn't entirely useless, because you could equip the item in this manner before diving into a dungeon, allowing you to cast more high level spells. This might be useful to add to the page. Not sure I would call it a bug so much as a design oversight. -- DeJuan N. Onley (talk) 04:29, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
