Fortify Percentages[edit]

Here is the same problem that is with the morrowind:breton article.

150 % more is not 1.5, but 2.5. If 100 % is eg. 20 multiplying it with 1.5 equals 30. If you don't believe me, try it with a calculator.

2.5 is 250 % and if something is increased 150 % from it's original value (100%) it equals 250 %... Thus the 2.5 increase

Again, try using a calculator if unsure.

Thank you for bringing this up on the talk page of this article instead of edit warring with me or other editors on this site. This shows that you learned from your mistake and that you want to reconcile it and make sure that the information in the article is correct without compromising honor and dignity :) I do not have the answer to your question, but I did want to say this here. If you read the page, it is describing a Fortify effect. The reason 50% is correct for Bretons and 150% for Altmer is that it is the amount by which your magicka is increased, not the new total. That's why the pages then clarify by saying "(50% more Magicka)" afterwards. Lastly, "0.5" and "1.5" are the values given in-game, so they are correct in any case. Please stop changing this. –RpehTCE 09:55, 7 May 2009 (EDT)

Alright, I see my fail here. If 0.5 is in game, then it is 0.5 . Just that in math it's not like that but yes, you are right.

As Rpeh said, it's a fortify effect. It's adding that much to the existing amount - fortify by 0.5x int and you get 1.5x original magicka. Just like you add 1.5x to 1, you get 2.5x total.

Indeed, I made a little mistake there myself...as someone else above had said, the 1.5x Magicka bonus is not the new total, but added to the base amount. WintersetAltmer 17:40, 29 December 2012 (EST)

Enchant skill.[edit]

" Consider this if you plan to play an enchanter, as Enchant is a difficult skill to raise and even a small starting bonus is helpful."
It is very easy to raise by constantly discharging and recharging enchanted items because recharging gives a large increase even if you fail to recharge. Therefore, Azura's star is useful.— Unsigned comment by 198.168.48.130 (talk) at 17:23 on 5 November 2011

True, but Azura's Star is not that easy to get hold of. Furthermore, from my experience Enchant is pretty difficult to raise; I have no qualms about that phrase remaining on the page. Wolok gro-Barok 18:03, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
