Itermerel Casting Levitate[edit]

The notes section mentions something interesting: "Itermerel is a rarity in Morrowind in that he can and will cast Levitate on himself to attack enemies." But I think the wording is a bit off: Itermerel does not have a levitation spell, so he won't actually cast such a spell. He does have a levitation potion. And, it's true, he will use this potion if his enemy levitates (not sure if he'll levitate to pursue Cliff Racers). You can try this yourself: Make sure you have enough space, aggro Itermerel so he attacks you, and then use levitation on yourself and hover away from him. Itermerel will consume his potion and chase you in the air. NPCs usually flee if you levitate, but if they have a levitation potion, they will often use it to chase you.

It's certainly uncommon to see this. I think you pretty much have to go out of your way to make it happen. But, it's not necessarily unique to Itermerel. Any NPC holding a levitation potion can do this. Another example is Furius Acilius. I've read a few reports that people will try to levitate away from him, only for him to consume his levitation potion and give chase.

So, in the end, I'm wondering if it's really worth mentioning this fact on Itermerel's page. On one hand, it's not unique to him. But on the other hand, not a whole lot of NPCs do carry levitation potions, I guess, so it is a bit of a rarity. Perhaps it should be mentioned with any NPC who carries levitation potions? --Croup shrunk (talk) 18:48, 2 October 2019 (UTC)

Itermerel's spells[edit]

It is stated "he knows Hand of Decay and Firefist." but these spells are not listed in those links. What do these spells do? Jormungandr (talk) 18:26, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Checking the Construction Set data:
Hand of Decay: Drain Health 1-100 pts for 1 sec on Touch
Firefist: Damage Health 10-24 pts for 1 sec on Touch; Fire Damage 10-24 pts for 1 sec on Touch
The spells aren't listed on the linked page because that page only lists spells which are available to the player, and these two spells are NPC-only; players can't acquire these spells in the normal course of gameplay. — Wolfborn(Howl) 20:29, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Useful Ally[edit]

He seems to pack a punch, for the early game at least, so if you need help with combat, you could just drag him around with you. I haven't tested whether there are limits to his willingness to follow you. Of course if you're looking to level on combat, he's going to be annoying, so you can talk to him before approaching enemies. Pick the "travel together" option and you can ask him to stay put so you can go off to get all bloody without him. Don't forget to get him again afterwards!
