According to me, he wields a silver longsword. I just did The Master's son, and I'm pretty sure (99.43%) that it is a silver longsword. And, If i'm not mistaking again, The sword on his corpse in Forsaken Mine IS a silver longsword. [edit] Naked Viranus

If Viranus takes enough hits during "The Master's Son" quest and removes his destroyed armor, he will still be naked when you discover him in the "Trolls of Forsaken Mine" quest. 209.134.75.234 18:20, 10 May 2008 (EDT)Dave123

The article suggests that Viranus is a useful follower. Heh, perhaps at lower levels, but at level 20, I've drug him through Oblivion Gates and he gets owned almost immediately. Even after outfitting him with Daedric Armor..75.196.104.223 10:10, 16 August 2008 (EDT)
