Welcome, Fellow UESP User![edit]

Welcome to my talk page. I greatly appreciate any form of feedback, constructive critism, and suggestions with regard to past and future posts.

I am highly knowledgeable of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, moreso Skyrim despite having played Oblivion longer. Therefore, I am willing to answer any quest pertaining to each. Esoterik 02:53, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

Welcome![edit]

Hello! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

  • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. In your case I cannot state this more: the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors.

I've also seen you've been trying to change colors in your signature. You can make a preset in the options so you don't have to type in the color codes every time, just so you know.

Have fun! ~ Dwarfmp 15:25, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

I appreciate the cordial welcome, and sincerely apologise for my frequent saves. As an aspiring Patroller, I too find it frustrating when there are an unnecessary amount of saves that appear on the Recent Changes page. In my case, though, it stems from the fact I do most of my edits during the early part of the morning, and that I am a perfectionist who cannot truly realise his mistakes or make decisions as to what he wants added until a few minutes after saving. To accommodate yourself and the collective Patroller community, I will attempt to make a greater effort to thoroughly read and make decisions accordingly prior to saving. Third person rewriting[edit]

Hi! As a patroller I noticed that you often rewrite sentences into third person (you->the player). I'm aware of wikipedias manual of style saying not to use "you" (WP:YOU), but second person just seems to work better for walkthrough style of articles and is used here normally in those cases (example: Oblivion:Tutorial). The result of re-writing sentences is a mix of second and third person, often on a single page, which is undesireable. I'm not aware of any policy/guideline we have in that direction, just that there is vast precedence for using "you" in those cases. Of course this needs getting used to if coming from another wiki. --Alfwyn 21:20, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

All right, noted. I appreciate the constructive critism. Esoterik 01:58, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
