[edit] Keeping the Katana
Is there any way to hide Renault's Kitana from Baurus, like maybe stash it on a Mythic Dawn corpse or something because I'd love to take the blade and add it to my item collection. ImmortalKaine 02:26, 13 January 2008 (EST)
- You know,it wasn't until I began reading this wiki that you could have taken Glenroy's katana as well (with Baurus confiscating both at the end). In all those previous runs, I never found Glenroy's katana on his person or fallen from his hand, which leads me to conclude that this katana disappears no matter where you place it. I'd have to venture that Captain Renault's katana exhibits the same behavior. —Dark Spark 04:46, 13 January 2008 (EST)
- Glenroy's Katana falls from his hand when he gets killed. Matter of fact I stashed it on a Mythic Dawn corpse and I'm right now going to retrieve it from the corpse, as Baurus has already spoken to me and I am able to leave. I'll reply with my results. ImmortalKaine 17:36, 13 January 2008 (EST)
- It disappeared from the corpse -.- But yes, both Katanas drop. I've had both Glenroy and Renaults. There must be a way to stash them past Baurus....I'm wondering, once the King get assassinated, maybe run ahead through the cavern with the Katana, drop it somewhere or store it in a Container then run back and finish up and choose your class.... - Both Glenroy's and Renault's Akavira Katanas have an attached script (
CGAkaviriLongswordScript), the comments for which state "this script disables everything in the world after Baurus speaks to you, to make sure the player doesn't leave with it." In other words, the developers wanted to ensure that you could not keep these weapons, and the script ensures that the weapons disappear, whether they're in your inventory or whether you stash them somewhere else. Given that ImmortalKaine's tests confirm this, I'd say that provides enough evidence that the answer is "no, you can't keep the weapons". --NepheleTalk 23:30, 13 January 2008 (EST)
