[edit] Bugs?
The following bugs were originally on the main page. However, it sounds like none of these players ever bothered to try activating the gravestone (I just added that to the quest walkthrough). Corrick mentioning "I can pay my respects" is probably a hint that he wants you to pray at the gravestone, i.e., activate it. So I'm moving all these bugs to the talk page until someone can confirm that's it not juat a matter of these players ignoring a necessary step.--Nephele 11:35, 22 July 2006 (EDT)
Note: Seriously bugged quest (at least for me). The door to the farm appears with a red icon all day, and with a false lock, the owner of the farm doesn't tell me anything about the quest even with 82 disposition....etc.
Followup: I get to see the farmer at 9am each day praying, he mentions I can pay my respects, endlessly. Went and collected the amulet anyway, quest was entered into the log and updated - says I should keep it until I find out who it belongs to. Farmer zero change, and now the amulet is stuck in my inventory. Killing him will end the quest, result in no bounty, and then you can pray at his wifes grave for a +30 fortitude spell.
SOLUTION: If you go to the mine before you talk to the farmer, the quest will not screw up :)
Solution 2 : The problem is very easy to solve in the Construction Set. In the Object Window, go to the NPC list, find Corrick Northwode (ID = CorrickNorthwode), and edit him. Go into the Dialogue window, and under Topics, select GREETING, scroll down to the line labelled SQEND and select it. Under the conditions section, you'll see the line : "Target = No ; Function Name = GetStage ; Function Info = Quest: 'SQ04' ; Comp >= ; Value = 100.00" The problem comes from the Function Info : SQ04 is the ID of the quest "No Stone Unturned". If you've already done that quest, it'll obliviously bug. Just click on the "Quest: SQ04" button under Function Parameters after having selected the line, and change it to the correct ID, 'SQ03'. Click OK and save the changes to the plugin file you want, and launch the game with it. It should be fixed now.
All of these problems should be fixed with the dowloadable patch
--- I am running Version 1.2.0416 and triggered the bug. Talked to the farmer first, got the amulet, now the farmer won't talk to me at all (only option is to pickpocket). I see him praying, going inside, and working on the farm. Haven't done the "no stone unturned" quest. Not sure if any mods are interfering, but I don't run much.
- If you're on the PC you could try the solution that uses the construction set suggested in the article - although that shouldn't be necessary. Otherwise you'll probably have to load from an earlier save, I'm afraid. --Rpeh•T•C•E• 07:12, 14 December 2007 (EST)
Ah wow fast response. I went through downloading the construction set and poking around to no avail. And then after reloading I realized that the reason I couldn't talk was because I was in sneak mode. Oops. So, no problems with 1.2.0416.
[edit] Regaining amulet
Something worth noting, as the amulet is a zero-weight piece of apparel and is likely to be coveted in the same manner as the Black Hood etc.: Can it be stolen back after you have completed this quest? 75.15.215.106 00:58, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
- Nope. The amulet is removed from the player's inventory but never added to Corrick's (typical for quest items) so can't be taken back. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 01:20, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
[edit] Weird Goblins
I did this quest at level 28, and every goblin in the cave was either a warlord or a shaman (5-6 warlords and 9-10 shamans). Is this weird or is it because I'm such a high level? I haven't been to any other goblin caves since level 15-16 so I have nothing to compare it to. If this is just what happens in all goblin caves when you are a high level, it's pretty stupid. What kind of tribe is made up entirely of bosses? That's like a company that only employs CEO's and a board of directors —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 99.230.234.79 (talk • contribs).
- That was because you are of a high level. Unfortunately, that's how the game works. It is also one of the major gripes about Oblivion. Vesna 13:45, 7 June 2008 (EDT)
