how to have an easy to lvl up character[edit]

Moved from Oblivion talk:Oblivion.

First off, start with the Argonian. This is best because of the ability to breath under water and resistance to diseases. after the basic tutorial, if you use it, pick the Mage as your birthsign. for your major skills, pick alchemy, armorer, destruction, restoration, mercantile, light armor, and illusion. these skills are pretty easy to lvl up.

ALCHEMY

level up alchemy by buying FOOD, not misc ingredients. this is because the cost for food is low and almost all foods can be paired together to make a restore fatigue. going around Skingrad to the vineyards and the farm will quickly increase your alchemy and periodically the barrels outside the Guilded Carafe will contain food. if you join a guild, at many guild halls there is a dining room with free food on it. use this to your advantage, be selfish, and take the guilds meal! almost all inns will sell some food also. you can easily buy two fruits for 4 gold and sell the potion for 30 with a low mercantile which leads into my next skill type...

MERCANTILE

use alchemy to level up your mercantile skill, but you can go around to the trainers which can be found by searching this site (i have not the time to look them up and write them down.)there isn't much else to be said about mercantile except that you should buy a house and stockpile all the items you find that are valuable (worth more that any store can give you) until you lvl up to be a master mercantile, then everyone will have 500 moar gold to barter with and you can invest. i did this and ended up with over 100k. you can easily make enough money selling potions that you made in the shop you bought food from.

ARMORER/DESTRUCTION

there is an extremely easy way to lvl up both of these without having to do any fighting (not exactly) join the mages guild and make it into the university. have the spell "disintegrate armor", and a hammer(s) at the ready. go to the alter of spellmaking and make the spell "disintegrate armor on self" for however much magicka that your want to use. a helpful tip it to have leveled up your restoration enough to add the effect, "fortify willpower" to immediately regenerate the magicka used. do constant checks on the armor and whenever you feel like it, repair it. This will lvl up both your armorer and destruction skills without hurting a soul.

RESTORATION/ILLUSION

use the spells light on self and minor heal on self with the same thing that you did with the destrution spell... yea

LIGHT ARMOR

turn the difficulty down to zilch and go into the arena. hopefully you are already the grand champion and, doing the previous skill guides, you will be fighting minotaur lords. when they attack, get ready and... stand there. take the blows and they will do barely any damage. NOTE be sure to wear the light armor with the gauntlets, greaves, cuirras, helmet, and boots. this also helps the armorer skill. use the restoration skill "restore health for perhaps 60 sec" and wait until their hammers actually break and slip from there grasp. then kill them. wait a month and repeat. or do quests.

CONJURATION/COMBAT SKILLS

to lvl up Conjuration, buy the bound spells and create a bound suit of armor for 1 second. cast repeatedly and when your at a reasonably high lvl buy a powerful creature conjuration spell, put the difficult reasonably high, then summon and attack then with whatever weapon you want to lvl up.

SNEAK

to lvl up sneak, have the invisibility spell, go into a the Anvil Fighter Guild and wait till the everyone is sleeping, run against the wall while in sneak and invisible and you will quickly gain lvls.

EXTRAS

if you are in the thieves guild but cant find stolen goods, pick up the broken warhammers the minotaur lords dropped. they count as stolen and no one will accuse you of stealing. a glass warhammer is worth 1600 gold alone. this will almost definitely get you over the 1000 stolen gold mark.

enchant any armor you wear with the "feather" effect and a grand soul gem to get 49 extra encumbrance per armor piece you where and if you are an expert in that armor, you will not even be encumbered by that.

do whatever you want with the attributes when you lvl up, but definitely put a point on endurance and a point on strength. if you want moar spells or if you want to lvl up faster, put points on willpower and on intellegence.

WHATEVER YOU DO, USE THE TRAINERS!!! this is because if you lvl up twice right away, you will only be able to train 5 lvls. use the trainers on athletics and acrobatics because these are the only skills you cant lvl grind very quickly.
