OB-icon-Illusion (title).gif Plans for the User Page[edit]

Hi, its me the infamous Skober!!! Ummm... I'm in the middle of updating my user page to make it all cool and show what my character is like (and how I want him to be like). <--- that explains why a few sentences or paragraphs don't quite make sense

Over the course of the next few days/weeks/maybe months, I'll be updating my characters info... I'm in the middle of "creating" a back story for my character. ((Basically it is a whole 'nother story about my personal character dating from around 3E404 ((or 3E390)) 'till now))

I never thought I'd be able to come up with a book (let alone a short story) but I have a lot of notes and ideas pertaining to Exil and his history.

So... Unless you don't care, Come back and see if I've made any progress--Skober 10:32, 27 May 2007 (EDT)

Ohh, I should mention... Exil is french for Exile (it ain't much of a difference, but I thought it'd make a cool Breton name ((seeing how BRETON means someone living in northern France (((I think))), because there is a reason he is banished from High Rock and called Exil)))

I'm trying to come up with a full length backstory for Exil, but am finding it difficult as I'm am still kind of new to TES

In the last 8 months, I have learned much, but still find trouble understanding certain details to certain events and people. I need help from a lore buff that can answer particular and personal questions about The Warp in the West (the war and the time period) and other highlights of Tamriel dating from 3E390 to 3E417, and up 'till 3E433. If anyone would like to devote some time in exchange for my gratitude, please make a new post on my talk page. --Skober 04:42, 1 June 2007 (EDT)

  • I'm back *again* and this time I will try to keep up on my character. When Fallout 3 came out, I discovered a new franchise I never knew, although the Genre is something I've been fascinated with just as with Fantasy and Sci-Fi. Anyway, my love for TES never wanes, and I would like to commemorate that with the culmination of a story in script and dialog to explain the origins, past, and present of the character that is the embodiment of my imagination as well as love for the fictional genres. I hope I will add more and more to the story as I have dreamed, imagined, and thought about this all through out my time of reading fiction. From my youth with D&D, novels, and old game platforms to the modern sagas like the Elder Scrolls and the next-gen platforms to experience them on, my life is blessed with such wonderful experiences. Welcome[edit]

Heyla, friend! We're glad you decided to join in on the wiki. Ask me anything you'd like; if I don't have the answer, I'll know who will. Welcome again! Somercy 11:42, 30 April 2007 (EDT)

Thanks man... I do have an odd question relating to Akavir and an NPC on Oblivion:
I met an NPC named Thurindil in Anvil. He looks like a Bosmer, but says "My name is Thurindil, son of Julianos and Mohi-Titona, Queen of Akavir. These slugs climbing my spine itch something fierce... Like to dance?" and "Mother's coming for me in the dragon ships. I don't like these itchy clothes, but I have to wear them or it frightens the fish".
Just who is he and what race is he actually apart of???? a Bosmer/Tsaesci?????? His mention of wearing clothes for the sake of the fish suggests hes not a true (full-blooded) Bosmer.
If he is not a true Bosmer, than why doesn't he appear diffrent than the rest??? (I also wonder about Commander Mishaxhi and his Imperial apperance - no snake like features)--Skober 05:06, 6 May 2007 (EDT)
Not Somercy, but I believe that for Mishaxhi, the developers were just lazy. As for Thurindil, I think he's just plain nuts, the construction set says that he's Bosmer. Th232 09:06, 6 May 2007 (EDT)
Never thought about Thurindil being crazy; that'd be a good guess (if I really am wrong), as he did talk in a "strange manner" (I guess you could say his speech was a little manic). I have a fascination with the Akavir. Aside from their architecture and weapons/armor, the only other thing “We” know about them is their story of creation (the snake shedding its skins). I’d like to find out what the Tsaesci actually look like (as well as the other races). It seems the Tsaesci might have a man’s head, torso, and arms with piercing vampiric teeth and eyes; and the lower section of a snake, all covered in golden scales.
Has anyone at Bethesda ever released any info about the Akavir out side of what is in the game (website or something)?--Skober 05:59, 9 May 2007 (EDT)

Images[edit]

Hi, welcome to UESPWiki! While you are welcome to upload a screenshot of your Oblivion character, I was wondering why you have now uploaded four separate versions of basically the same image (Image:DIG_CAM_PICS_027.jpg, Image:EXIL.JPG, Image:OB_Exil_pix_001.JPG, File:User-Skober-OB EXIL pix 002.JPG). I realize that in the first case the name wasn't terribly descriptive. But with the other three, I'm not sure why three different copies are needed. If you would like to replace an image that you have previously uploaded, you can just upload it to the exact same image name, and you will be allowed to overwrite the existing version of the image. Could you let us know which image name you would like to stick with, and then tag the others for deletion (edit the image page and add the tag {{speedydeletion}}, see Deletion Policy for details) so that we can clean up the extra copies? Thanks. --NepheleTalk 12:50, 28 May 2007 (EDT)

Done and done (I hope, anyway). Sorry about that... I'm obsessed with my character, don't pay Oblivion on my PC, and use a digital camera to take pix of my TV to capture my character. I was still figuring out how to go about taking the pic (size wise and then factoring the light and everything) so really the three predecessors were "prototypes". I was hoping to be able to delete them my self (with out causing some one else time and the trouble), but I couldn't figure it out.
Also... for when I upload my images; should I put the "Template:Esimage" for the licensing?? Because I use a digital camera and photograph the content of my TV, I'm not sure how to designate its license--Skober 06:59, 29 May 2007 (EDT)
Thanks! And, no, you can't delete or even rename images yourself (nobody can rename images except perhaps Daveh). All deleting has to be done by an admin, which is why all the deletion tags were set up. I answered the license question on the image talk page. --NepheleTalk 10:41, 29 May 2007 (EDT)

Why ask me?[edit]

I'm not much of an authority here, so don't ask me about how you wield your userpage! I mean, Nephele knows more about that than me. Somercy 15:14, 29 May 2007 (EDT)

Sometimes I assume things ('coz I'm too lazy to go back and check something out ((in this instance, I just assumed you were an admin))... It's not a good habit to have, but I do it any way (unfortuatly). Many a time, I have a question or what not, and just want to get it done ASAP so I can get back to the game. So, sorry for your time ("assume" makes a donkey out of me)--Skober 01:18, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
It's cool, man. Just wondering how you chose me out of all the bigwigs here. Go back to playing, and do some research for us! Somercy 15:05, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

Questions to ask me[edit]

Hi, you asked me if I would answer questions about my characters and/or about your character.

Feel free to ask anything, i will gladly help you any way I can. --YessMasster

Size of Province in Lore and from a 'realistic' context[edit]

"::If the Illiac Bay is 1.6 the size of Great Britain, than is **Lore: Cyrodiil** (not in-game Cyrodiil) actually only 16 sq.miles? On the map Cyrodiil looks larger than appx. 241,590 km2 (the size of Great Britain) Skober 09:11, 3 July 2011 (UTC)"

The answer to the question circa 2007[1], is a dead link (go's to a "oops what happened to this page" [2]). My question was deleted and, IMO went unanswered. The simple answer of 16 square miles is the one fact I understand; Its how big the Cyrodiil-Game-World in TESIV[3] is.

I'm seriously curious as to if the size of the Imperial Province as if were a true location on an actual planet Nirn.

Just to give and example... Is it comparable (in earthly terms) to say Canada, or a chunk of Europe, or Alaska?

Please don't consider this in context of a complaint for I am honestly curious to the size of landmass as its the central core on the map, thus easiest for comparing in size the rest of the provinces. If there is no answer to the logistics of my question than I will rescind. Skober 13:50, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
