Redirect in Category[edit]

This may be a stupid question, but why is this page (and all the other flora redirects) in the category Tamriel-Flora, which doesn't exists. --Gaebrial 06:09, 16 November 2007 (EST)

They're in the category so there's an easy way to group them all together and it doesn't exist because nobody's got around to creating it yet! Putting the redirects in a category may sound silly at first but it means that you can get a page showing all the actual plants - just take a look at Category:Lore-Flora and you'll see what I mean. --RpehTCE 06:21, 16 November 2007 (EST)
But don't the Tamriel:Flora pages themselves do that? --Gaebrial 06:24, 16 November 2007 (EST)
Yes, but the Flora pages only list only one initial letter. There are several categories like this - Category:Oblivion-Ingredients springs to mind - where there are pages that duplicate the content, but they're useful for things like Bots that need to get lists of links. I don't blame you for regarding it as useless, but it doesn't hurt and somebody somewhere just might find a use! --RpehTCE 06:37, 16 November 2007 (EST)
All of these pages were just created in the last 12 hours which is why the category pages don't exist yet; there are several other issues with the Tamriel categories that I'm also about to address. As for why there's a category, I've been creating categories for all of NepheleBot's redirects. There are some readers who prefer to browse for information using categories rather than lists on articles. Also, having the redirects listed in reasonable-sized categories (as opposed to some of the mega-categories for redirects, such as Category:Redirects to Broader Subjects) ensures that search engines can index the pages, making it easier for readers to go straight to the correct UESP page. --NepheleTalk 13:08, 16 November 2007 (EST)
