[edit] Spell as Area Effect

The page states that casting open as an area effect spell will not be reported as a crime.

Gunshot1 subsequently reported Casting this spell as Area of Effect doesn't seem to actually open anything unless cast directly at the object you are trying to unlock in which case, it is reported as a crime (if seen).

I don't see how the behaviour of open should be any different when cast as an area effect spell as opposed to a touch spell. You still need to 'hit' something with the spell, but it should then open all locks in the area of effect, reporting crimes where applicable.

Can anybody verify that (a) the area effect works on an open spell (need to find several locks in close proximity), and (b) crime reporting works the same as for anything else?

yes i made a open spell which a maximum area but this doesn't opens anything until I will cast directly on the door an it's considered as a crime 94.75.107.125 07:59, 24 April 2009 (EDT)
Confirmed. You have to cast the spell directly at the door and people consider it a crime. Additionally, an AoE spell only opens the lock at which it is cast - other locks within range will not be affected. –RpehTCE 04:06, 25 April 2009 (EDT)
