Quests to do Early?[edit]

Shouldn't the missions (sorry for names, drawing blanks and have to run) for the pillow lady and the missing shipment and the second "blades" mission with Sharn, the orc, that can disappear be put under this category? The first one, if you do the Fighters' guild quest first, it becomes unbeatable (without the Unofficial Morrowind patch) and the second one (and the subsequent necromancer's quest) become unobtainable if she disappears, so those should be done as early as possible shouldn't they? Just a thought. 75.15.184.244 22:46, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes, they could go under that category, but they are also missable quests, a category on its own.
Personally I think that Corpus Disease should not belong to this list, the advantage of disease immunity is also a disadvantage if you plan to become a vampire and completing this one requires beating mid-high level opponents.
How can I propose a change? CyD (talk) 09:46, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
First, please note that you are replying to a 12-year-old topic, which is normally considered necroposting unless the reply adds substantially new information which was not available at the time of the original post.
Second, the Corprus Cure quest entry already mentions the disadvantage to doing the quest if you wish to become a vampire. As far as opponents, note that the creatures in Ilunibi during Sixth House Base are leveled; lower-level characters should not be facing mid-high level opponents, and if you do the quest at level 1 or 2, you will in fact not run into any creatures except for the seven dreamers and Dagoth Gares (the leveled creatures are set to appear only at level 3 or above), thus making the caverns much easier to traverse at low-level than higher levels. The Corprus Cure quest itself specifically requires you not to kill any of the Corprusarium inmates, and the ones in the Bowels are non-hostile anyway. The quest is fine where it stands. — Wolfborn(Howl) 01:40, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

First, sorry for necroposting, in my defence I play as a necromancer a lot so I guess its kind of roleplaying. Second, while the Corprus Cure quest may not require defeating strong opponents, my bad, there are 7 quest prior to that, kind of a long way to go. Look at the other quest on the list, some are to be considered a tutorial, in my opinion this one is not to be done soon by a newcomer. What do you think? CyD (talk) 09:42, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Some quests have been removed because: "List contains quests that are better done early; removed quests that are included simply because *can* be done early (aka. "easy")". Many of those quests encourage esploring and getting to known both ingredients and low-level foes. They felt like a tutorial. When is the best time to do those quest, considering the rewards (health and mana potions, Maran Amulet...)? The Maran Amulet is not a quest reward but you still get it after completing the quests. What is your definition of "Quests to do Early"? Thnk you for your reply

Personally, I believe it all boils down to "why should this quest be done early"? Based on what was already in the list, I saw three reasons why quests should be done early:
I also understand a couple of reasons why quests can, but not necessarily should, be done early:
Money isn't exactly an issue in Morrowind. If it is, the page on making money more than adequately addresses the issue, early-game notwithstanding.
On the other hand, and perhaps more pertinently, if the benefit/reward is something more vague and less quantifiable (eg. exploration, learning about ingreds / low-level foes, tutorial-like experience, etc.), most faction quests are already structured to start the player off with easier quests for exactly those goals. Adding them to the list would be as redundant as saying, "you should start on these quests ASAP simply because they are the starting quests for these factions." Umbra[edit]

This seems like a worthless suggestion, as any player to stumble upon Umbra would quickly discover whether or not they could defeat him. This page should be reserved for notably easy quests with great benefits, quests that conflict, and quests that have leveled rewards. — Unsigned comment by 24.108.237.188 (talk) on 28 February 2011

You can discover the Umbra quest without actually meeting him. Read the quest page. This offers a simple warning that following up on the quest might not be the best plan. rpeh •TCE 09:18, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Vassir-Didanat Mine?[edit]

This quest should probably be added because it can be an easy way to get either 2000 gold or a daedric weapon and does not take a high level to do. The Console Commander (talk) 15:47, 23 July 2014 (GMT)

Conflicting quests[edit]

Perhaps the quest Morrowind:Donation from Cunius Pelelius along with the House Redoran quests Morrowind:Evidence of Corruption and Morrowind:Shut the Mines Down should be included in the Quests that Conflict section. Freeing the slaves during Shut the Mines down makes it seemingly impossible to talk to anyone to gain evidence that Pelelius is stealing ebony (and yes, I am aware that it is not a requirement to free all of the slaves in Shut Down, but since I was already freeing one, I thought I might as well free the others, and there was no note on Shut Down to say that the slaves were required for another mission, and I'm betting that other people have done the same thing and ran into the same issue). Completing Evidence of Corruption first also means that you can't get the Ledger to confront Peleius with the evidence to get the three pieces of ebony ore either. Then there seems to be the issue that getting the ledger during Donation might make it not work for the Evidence quest, breaking that entire line in the Redoran quests.

And yes, I am also aware that at least Donation allows the player to pay the donation out of their own pocket, but it might still be worth adding that possible actions in one of the questlines might seal off possible actions in the other, and in the case of getting the ledger before Evidence, that it might ruin the entire House Redoran questline. --Dragos Drakkar (talk) 22:16, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Informant Quests can be missed?[edit]

''There is a possibility to miss four informant quests (at least after finishing Blades Trainers quest) - Antabolis Informant, Gra-Muzgob Informant, Vivec Informants and Zainsubani Informant, where Caius Cossades suddenly skips to Meet Sul-Matuul quest. Reasons so far are unknown, but they might be connected with some misc Nerevarine Prophecy journal entries acquired during adventures or trigger specific topics.''

Could anyone check in the morrowind editor what triggers new "Orders" (or "Order", I don't remember) dialogue of Meet Sul-Matuul quest of Caius Cosades? As far as I remember in this situation (wtihin this quest) this text starts from "As I said, go to the Urshilaku camp...".

There is a bug where, if you talk to Nuleno Tedas in Maar Gan and she gives you directions to the Urshilaku Camp, you can skip to that quest with Caius.

Betting this is true for any NPC that has the Urshilaku Camp dialogue option.

The dialogue entry which causes this is specifically filtered to "Scout" class in Maar Gan, so if there are other scouts in town (or even modded companions using the scout class passing through) they could cause the same problem if you asked them about it

Moved the above text from main page to here, at least, until the reasons so far are known. Salamangkero (talk) 16:42, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
